Barely grossing $6 million in its original theatrical release, this film has made over $50 million in DVD sales.
When Alex puts the tray of food in his grandma's oven, there is a banana in the corner of the tray. When he opens the oven later to take the food out, the banana is gone.
During the Happy Madison logo, the old man (actually Adam Sandler's late father, Stanley) instead of saying his usual "Terrific!", utters "Oh, boy..."
There's an unrated version of the film which includes some extended scenes.
Another Day Written by Jenny Christmas & The Twenty Twos Performed by The Twenty Twos Courtesy of Epic Records By Arrangement with Sony BMG Music Entertainment
Adam Sandler stock company player Allen Covert got boosted to star status with this easygoing stoner comedy that Covert also produced and co-wrote (with Barry Wernick and co-star Nick Swardson). The amiable Covert plays Alex, a 35 year old video game tester who loses his apartment through no fault of his own. He briefly - very briefly - is able to stay with his co-worker & friend Jeff (Swardson), who refers to his parents as his "roommates", until an unforeseen incident involving Lara Croft, Tomb Raider, occurs. Soon he's obliged to accept the offer from his grandmother Lilly (Doris Roberts) to come stay with her and her friends, Grace (Shirley Jones) and Bea (Shirley Knight). He comes to enjoy the arrangement, despite a rocky start, and is immediately attracted to Samantha (Linda Cardellini), the hottie supervising the production of the game that he's currently testing. Covert does a fine job with the writing of this appropriately goof ball movie that includes enough wild and random - and raunchy, of course - insanity to make it pleasurable viewing. The bit with the martial artist chimp is particularly funny. The assorted off the wall characters include Peter Dante (another member of the Adam Sandler stock company) as stoner dude Dante, Joel David Moore as weirdo video game prodigy J.P., Kevin Nealon as Alex's New Age boss, and Jonah Hill as another of his co-workers. They're all good at what they do, but it's really the older generation that adds that something special to this thing, as veterans Roberts and Jones are very much up for anything in this outrageous movie; Roberts is endearing as always, but Jones is a revelation as an oversexed show business groupie whose liaisons included ones with Charlie Chaplin and Abbott & Costello. You'll never look at Shirley Partridge quite the same way again! Predictably enough, there are cameo roles for Sandler's old cohorts David Spade and Rob Schneider. Moore's "robotic" shtick does wear a little thin, but that's hardly a major quibble. A production of Sandler's Happy Madison company, this does take a bit of time to kick into gear but once it does it remains an acceptable diversion for its duration. Seven out of 10.

Gary and Almeda married within two weeks - after a date at Chuck E. Cheese restaurant where Gary was so nervous he fell off his chair
A GRANNY who found love with a teenager 53 years YOUNGER than her has told how “every day is a whirlwind”.
Almeda and Gary Hardwick married in 2016, two weeks after meeting at her son Robert’s funeral.
She’d been married before, for 43 years – but confessed in a new YouTube video Gary was her “soulmate”.
“I was married for 43 years and there wasn’t a lot of kissy, huggy stuff going on… no romance,” she said on her YouTube channel, referring to her first relationship.
“[My current relationship] it’s a whirlwind.
“We are always complimenting and kissing. We’re enjoying our relationship. When you meet that perfect one, that’s when you know you don’t want to lose that feeling."
She continued: “The compliments, the hugs the kisses… that’s very romantic.”
The couple had sex for the first time on their wedding night and previously described each other as 'wonderful lovers'.
“It was wonderful, beyond my wildest dreams,” revealed Gary previously. “She really is my dream woman and the physical side of our relationship couldn’t be better.”
Almeda was speaking at the launch of her new talk show, Girl’s Talk, where she offers advice to members of the public.

“I know you have a lot of questions to ask me,” she said, explaining it would be a weekly show and she would draw on her own two marriages to give advice.
During her first segment she responded to a woman called Jordy to talk about how to make love last.
She explained: “You need to sit down with each other and work through the problem in relationships. “Some people just fly off the handle and they don’t want to talk about the problem.
“In our relationship we do little things each day to help each other out whether he cooks me supper or mops for me.
“It’s the little things like that, cooking a meal, washing dishes.”
She emphasised the importance of complimenting your lover. “Always compliment him and show love,” she said. “Show it every day, we aren’t promised tomorrow.”
Almeda and Gary, who previously dated a woman of 77 – tied the knot in a ceremony which he arranged for just $200 (£137) in six days in 2016.
After marrying the pair moved into Almeda’s house with one of her grandsons who is three years older than her new husband.
[My current relationship] it’s a whirlwind. We are always complimenting and kissing. We’re enjoying our relationship. When you meet that perfect one, that’s when you know you don’t want to lose that feeling.
“I wasn’t looking for a young man, but Gary just came along,” said Almeda. “I just knew straight away that he was the one.”
Her happiness at their meeting was in stark contrast to the lonely despair the mother-of-four had endured after being widowed and then losing her eldest son Robert, 45, after a seizure.
“I’d been married to my first husband Donald for 43 years, and so when he died in 2013 after seven months in hospital from complications with diabetes, I found myself on my own,’ said Almeda.
“I’d turn up for work at Walmart in tears and my colleagues would ask me what was wrong. Deep down, I was searching for a soulmate.”
Gary, whose attraction to older women started with a crush on a teacher at the age of eight, said he had also been in turmoil, feeling trapped in an unhappy relationship with his 77-year-old lover.
“We were always fighting,’ said Gary. “I fell into depression and was looking for a way out.”
That’s when Lisa, his aunt, invited him to join other mourners for her husband Robert’s cremation.
Almeda said: “I’d noticed this young man with a lovely smile during the service and thought, ‘Wow, this is the one.’
“He was on the other side of the church, but I kept looking over at him. It was like a bright light through the grief.
“Then, as I was walking to the door at the end, he came over and passed on his condolences. We didn’t have much time, but it was enough.”
For the next few months, she couldn’t stop thinking about Gary. She didn’t realise was that the feeling was mutual.
“It was an instant thing for me too,” said Gary. “She had the most gorgeous, sparkling blue eyes.”
Soon after, Lisa asked them both along to a family meal at the nearby Chuck E. Cheese’s pizza restaurant.
“He was just as I remembered,” said Almeda. “That smile, those good looks. We were both too nervous to eat, and at one point he fell over his chair.”
But there was still one question Almeda needed to ask.
She recalled: ‘I just came out with it and said to him, ‘Look, I’m 71 and you’re 17. Am I too old for you?’ He squeezed my hand, grinned, and replied: “Age is just a number.”’
That night, after returning to Lisa’s with the others, Gary surprised her with red roses and a bracelet for her birthday which had been a few days before. Then they shared their first tender kiss under the moonlight outside on a bench.
“It made me feel like a teenager again,” smiled Almeda.
From then on, they started seeing each other every night, and got the blessing of most friends and family, including Gary’s mum Tammy, 48, and his grandmother Carolyn, 71.
Two weeks after their first date, she had no hesitation in accepting when Gary proposed on the phone. Six days later, Almeda wore a dress borrowed from his cousin as they married in the gardens outside Lisa’s flat.
Since their wedding in October 2016, Gary’s had their names tattooed across his chest.
Gary said: “Almeda is so young at heart that age never bothers us, we never really think about it. I just know that God answered my prayers that day she walked into my life.”
She added: ‘The one thing I’ve learnt is that when you truly love somebody, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.”

The 23-year-old says he finds it extremely difficult to desist from the act
The shocking account of how a 23-year-old who has been in an amorous sexual relationship with his 52-year-old grandmother for the past 5 years has left residents of New Juaben Municipality of the Eastern Region spellbound.

Sampson Lartey [not real name] who developed the habit of masturbating after his colleagues introduced him to the act, revealed that he was at one point in time caught in the act by his grandmother. He claims his grandmother used that information to blackmail him into having sex with her.

Subsequently, he began sleeping with his grandmother. He was 18 at the time.

“I was eighteen (18) years when it all started. I lived with my grandmother when I was fourteen (14). My parents were not in the country by then, so I spent a lot of years with my grandmother. She took care of me just like her son, and gave me the best of education.
It was vacation, I was inside my room masturbating. The pleasure in the act made me forget that I had not locked the door. Half through the process, my grandmother who wanted to send me on an errand suddenly opened the door. There I was, masturbating. She had caught me in the act. I felt very ashamed and dirty. She closed the door gently without saying a word.
Days after the incident, the cordial relationship that existed between my grandmother and myself froze. I panicked anytime my eyeballs met with hers. I had my nerves loosened. What have I done to myself? I quizzed over and over again.
I gathered courage and went to my grandmother; I apologized to her for the mess I have created. She told me right in the face that, what I have done is a great offense and she finds it very difficult to forgive me. My heart was bleeding after she made these pronouncements. I was sobbing. She could sense I was frustrated and had regretted ever doing that," he narrated.

He continued, "She drew me closer to herself and asked me to calm down. She assured not to tell anyone about what happened and made me promise her it is not going to happen again. I felt very excited. At least I can feel at ease at home," he said.

Describing how his first sexual act with his grandmother happened, Lartey said he succumbed to lust after walking in on his 'naked' grandmother on his way back home from an errand.

"My grandmother sent me on an errand one Saturday afternoon and asked me to bring the item into her room. I knocked at her door and she ordered me in. When I entered, what I saw was scary. I saw the nakedness of my grandmother. She asked me to come closer to her since I was stunned beside the door. It took a long pause but I eventually went closer. I had a feeling I knew what was going to happen, but curiosity took me there.
Even though I knew it was erroneous for me to do that, I proceeded anyway. I felt very confused and frustrated but that did not stop me from making love to my grandmother after one act led to the other. And from there we’ve had sex regularly for the past five years’’. He lamented.

Lartey says he regrets the act with his grandmother saying the situation has cost him his relationship with his girlfriend.

"Though my girlfriend is not aware of my sex escapades with my grandmother but in a way, it has affected the healthy relationship I used to have with my girlfriend. As a result, my girlfriend has decided to call it quits since I do not give her the necessary attention, care and love anymore".

He added that despite feeling guilty about the act which has also led to a decline in his academic performance, he finds it extremely difficult to desist from it.

"I really want to stop this bad behaviour but am really finding it difficult and it has even again affected my education. My grades are getting worse as the day goes by and all what I think about is my grandmother but nothing else. I feel very guilty for everything I have been doing with my grandmother. I pray no one especially the youth, enters a predicament like this because it is very disgusting and can haunt you for the rest of your life”.
