Government Bid Writer
Digital nomads. Work from anywhereCompany: Remoat Teams
The role
We're after an experienced tender/RFP writer to own our government bid pipeline end-to-end: finding the right opportunities, deciding which are genuinely worth pursuing, and writing compelling, compliant responses that win.
This is a contractor role, part-time to begin with and scoped around live opportunities. As our public-sector pipeline grows, there's a clear path to a larger or full-time engagement for the right person.
What you'll do
* Find the opportunities. Monitor government tender portals across our target markets (e.g. US SAM.gov, CanadaBuys, AusTender, NZ GETS, UK Find a Tender / Contracts Finder) and other relevant sources to surface live opportunities.
* Shortlist and qualify. Screen tenders against our ICP and bid/no-bid criteria — flagging the high-value, high-probability ones and filtering out poor fits before we waste effort on them.
* Write to win. Produce clear, persuasive, fully compliant responses: addressing every evaluation criterion, building strong win themes, staying inside word and format limits, and assembling the required attachments.
* Own the process. Manage submission timelines and logistics so nothing slips through the cracks.
* Use AI well — but own the quality. You're welcome to use AI tools to accelerate research and drafting. The catch: you personally review, fact-check, and edit everything before it's submitted. AI is your drafting assistant, never the final author.
* Collaborate. Work with our team to pull together technical detail, pricing inputs, and supporting evidence.
What we're looking for
* Demonstrable experience finding and writing winning government/public-sector tenders, RFPs, RFIs, RFQs or ITTs.
* A strong track record in one or more of our target markets — US, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, or UK public procurement.
* Tech or legal-focused experience preferred — bids for SaaS, AI, data, court reporting/legal, or technology products and services.
* Excellent written English, and the judgement to make a dense, technical offering land as clear and compelling.
* Comfortable working independently, managing deadlines, and making sound bid/no-bid calls.
* Fluent with AI writing/research tools — and disciplined about reviewing and editing their output rather than shipping it raw.
Nice to have
* Familiarity with procurement frameworks or panels relevant to our markets.
* Experience with compliance-sensitive or financial-services-adjacent buyers.
* A network or genuine insight into how public-sector buyers actually make decisions.
The details
* Type: Contractor — part-time to start, with potential to move to full-time.
* Location: Fully remote — open to candidates worldwide. Note: the tenders you'll work on are based in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, so you'll need to be comfortable working to those markets' conventions and deadlines.
* Rate: USD $2,000 base per month plus 3–5% uncapped commission on every successful bid. With contract ACVs that can reach $1M+, a single win can mean $50,000+ in commission — the upside is real and uncapped.
