We stopped in for a day of gambling and lunch. The buffet had a wide variety of choices and some stations would even make food to order. The slots treated us well and the waitresses were always offering drinks. Really nice that they have self serve coffee and soft drinks too.
A very nice hotel to stay at. Rooms are modern, beautiful and clean. The pool is amazing, it's on the rooftop. The casino is also nice and they have a variety of game machines. The center bar is fun to be at since they have games and huge TVs. The drawback of the bar is that the bartenders can be slow at times, to many people and not enough bartenders. All in all, an elegant place to have a great time.

This is the nicest Casino Hotel in Black Hawk (aka The Little Vegas of the Rockies). The rooftop pool is heated with a gorgeous view from the 34th floor. The staff was great and courteous the whole time I've been here so far, from the Front Desk Clerk to the Bartender (Chris) at the main bar, to the security personnel and the Fireside Grill servers. The spa and room service are reasonably priced, there is a great selection of tables as well as several automated roulette games that can seat dozens more players than the tables themselves when needed. And the bathrooms!... I'll post a pic so you can see that for yourself. I'll DEFINITELY be back... Though you can assure that by comping me a room! 😉 Regardless, I highly recommend this casino and you're best off staying at least overnight.
This really is a nice casino and the rooms are great. The bed could have been more comfortable but I will forgive that because I really like their rooms. Their conference facilities are top notch too with great food and service. This was my 3rd August at the Ameristar for the RMHA conference and I enjoyed it every time. Hopefully next time the bed is new.

Staff was very friendly. Greg W at front desk was amazing! Helpful and answered all my questions. The fitness center is nice. And plenty to gamble, eat and drink... rooms however aren’t top to bottom clean... they’re spacious but could be cleaned better. Pool and jacuzzi are nice and big. Enjoyed the Mountain View’s from the rooftop pool
Went to the Ameristar for a fun evening out. For being a Saturday night trip, it was obviously pretty busy, but I noticed that the staff was doing really well cleaning up and keeping the place in a clean state. The employees were nice and helpful. I'd go back again.

This casino is about average. There are plenty of games, and the bar is 8042 nice when you can get in it. I come here around once every 6-8 weeks. My wife and I stayed in a Suite for our Anniversary a few years ago, and while the room was really nice over all, the bed was the most uncomfortable we'd slept in. The casino is mostly clean, cleaner than a lot in black hawk, and the layout is nice. Good luck finding a server if you want a drink however. The complimentary soft drink stations are a blessing in these cases.
Great hotel but you can tell the rooms have been used. My husband and I got a spa sweet with a jetted tub. The tub's attachment did not work, the carpet is coming up in one spot and the foot board is warn. These are only cosmetic things so we had a great time anyways

Just about the only kids friendly casino resort in Colorado, but just barely. Blackjack tables have higher denominations to keep cheaper players out. Rules are not the most liberal, but acceptable for strategy playing. Staff are professional and restaurants have good service. Rooms are nice, and so is the exercise room. It's a great place for gaming or just to relax. UPDATE: no longer allow children into the buffet. Could of made an alternative entrance, but it appears they are discouraging family clienteles.
I walked through this casino when driving by. I had to see it I had no idea that there was casinos in Colorado. It was absolutely amazing. I was able to talk to several people that worked here and they were all super nice and helpful. Definitely thinking of planning a trip or I can come and stay at this hotel.

Ameristar was a wonderful place to stay the night. The gambling was great as was the food and drinks. The only thing that could have made it better was if the bar had been open at the pool. I'll definitely be back for more relaxation and fun!
Fun place to hang out. Clean, good atmosphere. Usually plenty of things to play even on busier nights. Drink service isn't bad but sometimes you'll wait a while before getting served.

Food quality has gone downhill and kids cannot eat at the buffet anymore. Slots are kind of tight. Rooms are nice as well as the pool and hot tub. I miss the outback jack slot machine. It was a lot of fun. Room wasn't ready by 4. Maybe once the new competition opens up, they will try harder....
Stopped at Ameristar on our way through the mountains, thought it would be fun to visit a casino so we went to Ameristar. We did some light gambling and ate at the grill. Burger was very tasty as were the fries. I was a fan of the serve yourself soda/coffee. Had a great time overall and really liked the smoke-free casino.

Stayed here one night and lost $200. Had a good time anyway. The room was roomy and comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have a decent smiling patio next to the Starbucks since you can't smoke inside. I played craps and the dealers were fun and nice. It's not Vegas but it will do in a pinch.
Great Staff, Service and Executive Hosts! Drinks water and wine are coming much too anymore compared to years past. Winnings were awesome in 2017! Love all the contests. Keep up the great work keeping us on our toes!

The hotel is great. They have 2 hot tubs one inside, one outside. They have a nice pool (the whole pool is 4 feet deep). The rooms are nice and clean, we love the shower/tub split in the room you can take a shower while someone takes a bath. The only complaint is fireside restaurant, they were good but cleanliness could have been better.
Incredible attention to detail here! The staff was VERY friendly, and the environment had the perfect balance of lighting, and atmosphere. Do yourself and any guests a favor and ask for a room on the higher floors -- the view is surreal! The rooftop pool is inside a glass building so your protected from the elements -- however, if you feel like braving the icy cold during the winter and spring months the jacuzzi is uncovered outside and feels awesome after a long day of mountain activities.

Nicest casino in black hawk as well as a poker room on the second floor. Strict security to get in on the casino floor. Under 21 can't do much here except the swimming pool. Upon arrival, i went straight to the second floor to play quarter slot and after a while i hit a $225 win on a quarter l. Had it been max bet a 75 cent would of triple, but i'm not that greedy.Had fun. Second day was not my favorite as i was asked for ID by someone other than security. I don't mind showing ID to security to get scan and approved in, but seriously this one person assumed i must of snuck past security protocol. Isn't that's the point of strict security at every door and entrance. Some of the people here must not have any logic other than security persons.
A special thank you to the Night Shift crew in in room dining and the front desk staff. Thank you for helping me make my mothers birthday a more memorable experience while staying there. I personally work for a hotel as well, and that you all handled my call last night was very professional and handled in a hastily manor. I was really impressed with how fast the amenity was delivered! Great job front desk staff =)

My fiance booked online a half hour before arriving at the hotel through a third party, we got there at about 3am on Friday. Vida at the front desk found the reservation no problem. As there were limited rooms available when we reserved the room, we reserved a queen no smoking suite. We asked if there were by chance any smoking rooms available and she said she would double check. She found us a king suite smoking room and switched us to that no extra charge. We got to the room and were blown away. The room was elegant and comfortable. Just perfect. We called down about an hour later and asked about a late check out as we had arrived very late and wanted to sleep in. Vida just happened to answer the phone and she put us down for a late check out (noon). When the restaurant opened up my fiance went down and bought breakfast for the both of us, reasonably priced and very good. Very professional and understanding staff. Excellent customer service. We are looking forward to our next stay.
Not a casino for a relaxing time. The music is pumping, and the kids run wild. Upkeep is nice and the place looks great. For young hip people. Great food selection. Lots of cocktails. A left quick to avoid the crowd. Wish they had a quieter section. Mostly more expensive slots

If you like casinos you will love Ameristar, Black Hawk. Nice rustic area, a little flash, but not like Vegas. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. Gaming is fun and there are lots of choices. Colorado says this is strictly for adults so the only entertainment for kids is a pool on the top floor of the hotel. Hotel rooms are very nice.
The hotel rooms were extremely nice with all the basic amenities. Breakfast is not included with room stay, but the restaurants located throughout the casino were reasonably priced. The pool and outdoor hot tub were the perfect temperatures. All in all the hotel was great. The casino had good bar service and servers throughout. Free drinks for those who gamble. The game selection was decent with most of the newer games, but not the absolute newest. Payouts for the casino are tight though. Ran through bank roll relatively quickly. Other casinos in the area also seem to be rather tight.

I had such a wonderful time here celebrating my dirty 30 and enjoying my first mommy get away. Andrew was great, very professional and so very kind! He upgraded my room, this literally made me smile from ear to ear the whole night. The suite was beautiful, clean, and so nice! The jacuzzi tub was so relaxing and The view was absolutely stunning! My only complaint would be the bed was not very comfortable, for such a nice room I was shocked that there wasnt a nicer/softer mattress. Everyone that works here had great customer service and were all very helpful when I had any questions. Thanks for the wonderful experience, I will definitely be back!
Large casino with a large variety of slots. Modern and clean place to gamble and relax. Rooms are great but unfortunately at an unusually high price during weekends. Other casinos within walking distance has equally nice and recently remodeled rooms for less cost. Buffet has a good variety of delicious foods.

We travel to Ameristar every December for a company end of the year party. The staff is generally wonderful. Typically the people working the event can be rather short tempered and snarky. However, the bar tenders and all other hotel and casino employees are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms never disappoint, very clean and orderly. The food is always delicious. We are not gamblers but everyone we go with loves to gamble there and never goes to another casino.
The Ameristar was an amazing experience fir myself and a couple buddies of mine! We wanted a night to let loose and have a little fun and the Ameristar was the place to do that! The staff there was friendly and was attentive to my and my friends needs, we had a great time in the casino and room service was awesome. Not in the room longer than to sleep and get ready...it was still comforting to get a quiet good nights sleep when I was in the room. I definitely recommend this Hotel to anyone who goes to Blackhawk for a night if fun and excitement!

Everything was wonderful! The hot tub was a little smaller than it appeared in the advertisements but that was all right. Service for the hotel room was very nice but they seemed to confuse themselves when we ordered it in the morning. They kept thinking we had already checked out. The bar service was relatively average, not once we're we approached by a cocktail waitress while at the slots. However we hit a few jackpots and made some new friends! So overall it was wonderful!
This is my favorite casino in the Blackhawk Central City area. It is pure class. Whoever designed and built displays thought of everything. It is styled in the model of a Colorado Mountain Lodge with natural stone and wood all over there's a fabulous Circle bar on the ground floor that has fireplaces. Big Bang Theory is my favorite game. But I like playing the poker slot machines as well. The rooms are spacious very nicely appointed with the softest sheets of any hotel I stayed in in the United States. I love coming here. If you can only afford to go to one Casino on your trip up the mountain you should definitely make it the Ameristar.

I enjoy the buffet on the weekends. I also love the Slot machines and games. I have even taken my wife here to stay at their beautiful suites, for Our Anniversary. Worth EVERY PENNY! This place has everything And great food! I enjoy myself, every time.
This is one of my favorite casinos in Blackhawk. Everyone is very friendly, the rooms are nice, and it's just generally a good atmosphere. You feel like you're in the middle of everything and it's a great place to start or end a fun night out. When their new central bar opens up, it's going to get even better.

The Amersitar was awesome. The rooms are insanely nice and well kept. The beds were comfortable. Food offerings are great. The staff are all really polite and friendly. The pool and hot tub are on the top floor and are great. I would highly recommend this place!
Went to blackhawk in Dec 2016. We visited almost all casinos but Monarch and came to the conclusion that Ameristar is the best hotel to stay and play in Black Hawk. Hotel lobby and casino is beautiful. Staff is helpful and courteous. We were upgraded to the Spa suite and the suite was AMAZING! Hot tub and pool at roof top was mind blowing. Food choices are limited though. Buffet was slightly pricey. Though overall one of the best experiences ever.

I went up to Ameristar with a buddy last week just for a little getaway. And I've only played table games once in my entire life.Joe talked me into playing some Roulette. No problem! I threw down $100 bucks and walked away an hour later with $700 !! the next morning I went back to try my luck and once again, came out a WINNER! Cashing in an additional $900 dollars!! Like any other Ameristar this one is no different, it's a fun place with lots to do. Not to mention you are surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery! The higher floor number your room is the better view you have! Lots of different food options, even a quick grill that stayed open until 2 a.m.

This is a very beautiful hotel. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. The pool area is very nice as well. The pool was kept at a nice tempurature and is big enough to swim laps, provided you get there early enough so there isn't many people. My fiance and I are considering having our honeymoon here. Also the casino is a lot of fun. Would highly recommend.
Went for the Sunday seafood buffet. They have very fresh snow crab legs and shrimp. The other items at the buffet are really good as well: prime rib, pasta entrees, Chinese food. The selections of desserts are really good too!

I always love staying at Ameristar! One of the best parts this time was the pool! After 9 on the weekends they close pool to all children and have a bar set up so you can buy drinks!! The atmosphere is chill and the water is beautiful. Kay at the front desk was so polite and professional. An issue arose that could have been a real problem but she took care of it! The only reason why I did not give it 5 stars was the poor and slow drink services on the gambling floors. When the waitresses did actually come around it took about 30 minutes or more between drinks. And then when I said something one of the ladies gave me extreme attitude. Gambling is one of the only times that I partake in alcohol so it sucks when the alcohol service is so bad. Please fix this Ameristar. Besides that, our stay was great as always!
The Ameristar Casino Resort is beautiful. It has a modern rustic feel. It is located on a hill so walking to other casinos/attractions on the strip may be a chore for some. Ate breakfast at the Fireside Grill. The food was good and the prices were reasonable. Played slots all night. Overall, day 1 of 3 got an A+.

The Ameristar was by far the nicest casino we visited that night and thankfully we we're staying there as well. It was clean and the staff was friendly. The rooms were big and spacious with a wonderful view. The hot tub is amazing as well and has very powerful jets to help relax you after you lose all your money.
Excellent poker room. Top notch service from the staff, so I decided to apply and join the team! Best cash game action I could find in town, with a variety of games being spread. Definitely worth a stop for your entertainment dollar.

The atmosphere is lively and warm. I do enjoy that aspect of it. However, many employees don't really seem to enjoy their jobs as much as other casinos. I also loose so much more money there compared to how much I win. I don't play there nearly as much as I used to.
I play craps all over the country, these are the best dealers I have played with. The crew have a great chemistry together. They like to see winning. Tables here go cold for long periods of time and it is hard to win at Ameristar. I am 1 for 3 at this casino.

The hotel was nice. Internet reception was very bad. Service was great. The atmosphere felt more open and alive. Definitely has the feeling of Vegas. Would highly recommend to friends and return in the future
Drove from Aurora on a whim (I woke up feeling good), the location is breathtaking. I would recommend going just for the drive. The casino was very clean, the temperature wasn't too cold like I'm use to in to Michigan, plenty of beverage stations, bathrooms were very clean and well kept. I only wish it was larger and offered more interactive games. All in all will definitely be back.

The Ameristar Casino is a beautiful building and facility. Very clean, tidy and updated games and friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay. One negative was the pool. Despite being beautiful it was full of kids, not something I would usually complain about, but when I take a trip to a casino in a casino town, it baffles me that there are so many kids, and it seemed most were not attended too. So parents come to a casino and just leave them in the pool to go gamble? Ameristar would be 100 times better if it was 21+ only allowed in the casino

We were at Ameristar for a wedding. Overall the place is exceptionally nice very clean very well cared for. The parking lot can get very full on a Saturday night. The food was very good for the wedding and we really enjoyed the staff. The rooms were very nice clean and comfortable. p

The first time I came here the service was awful. I was celebrating my 21st birthday and I would try getting drinks from the ladies who walk by (yes I was playing) and they were rude and would say they would come back later. I practically had to beg for a drink which took hours. We decided to go to the bar and the bartender was great he took good care of us. I recently came back and was surprised how friendly the staff is during the weekdays. They constantly stopped us and asked if we were having a good time. However I play for the free drinks and there weren't any people coming around offering free drinks. I guess that's typical during the weekday because only one casino (isle) had people walking around offering free drinks. The drinks aren't that expensive but if you want the free drinks you'll be dissapointed.
I went there on a Saturday just for the entertainment and buffet. The Slots is where I lost most of my money, but luckily the table games I won it all back and then some. The buffet was very good. The quality of the food was above average. You'll definitely get more than what you paid for. Their members point system sucks, not worth getting it unless you're a regular gambler which is not good or you want 5% off for your meals which is better than nothing. Overall, I would come back someday and hangout. I would recommend playing the craps, blackjack and the roulette tables

This hotel is absolutely incredible! I highly recommend staying here if youre into gambling. Even if you're not gambling it's still an amazing place to stay. Nothing beats the rooftop pool area or the amazing casino floor. The Starbucks was also a nice touch!. And the amazing rooms were very well ventilated to keep the room from getting smokey.
Vacationed here this past weekend. Staff was great and polite. Got a little confused about parking and how to get around the building but eventually figured it out so it wasn't a big deal. Dining options were nice and the array of slots was favorable. The pool was easily my favourite part, the water was warm. Hot tubs were too packed to enjoy, but when we did get a moment in the outdoor hot tub it was quite the enjoyable experience. Definitely will be returning!
