Google Social Impact: How Will it Affect My Business?

Google launched the Google Social Impact program last month in order to take over the role of a mediator of social networking. This will obviously be used heavily by all Google properties, such as blogs and apps. It also has the potential to be adapted to other websites and web applications. The way that content is shared has quite a large influence on the way how we perceive things around us.

There are magazine of ways in which you might be able to use this new technology in your business. One of the ways is through Google's personalization feature in Google+ Local. If you have an account at this location then you will likely find that you can now have more personalized results returned to you by adding your own information to what people might expect to see. You could then use this on your Google+ Business page or Google+ Local page where you can connect with people in your area for business purposes. Google also recently announced that it will soon be able to share reading habits across its social networks.

There have been magazine of changes already announced but these include things like being able to see your most visited websites at a quick glance. This is something that Facebook has had on their sidebar. Now with Google's search function you could have your most visited websites at the top of the list for you to browse through. magazine has not yet announced any plans regarding their reader acquisition.

Another application that Google is working on is its in-game news reader. This is a service where the news you are looking for is already loaded up on the device and you simply need to click on a link to get the latest scoop. This is similar to how news is delivered to people in newspapers. However, since Google wants to make its own mark here, it will most likely be an extension of Zagat. The social reading function will most likely compete with Reader and Now.

Along with these two, Google is also looking into ways of bringing more personalized results to their search results. Currently, the top results are those that are based on personalization. This includes things like your location and gender. With Google's announcement though, it is possible that your search is going to include more personal information. This is one change that Google has made in their social strategy though.

In a lot of ways, Google's biggest challenge is competing with the already established social networking players like Facebook and Twitter. These two giants are dominating the scene and there is no doubt about it. Their existing services are very good at what they do and they are getting better. The only problem with Google's social impact though is that it will not be able to shake off the competition.

It might not seem like a big deal now because everyone is so used to Facebook and Twitter. However, if magazine look at the functionality behind these two services, you will notice a lot of differences. Facebook and Twitter can do just about anything that a blog post can do while also posting pictures and more videos. On magazine , blogs have always had the functionality to share links and articles with your readers. So, if you want to continue to drive traffic to your business, you need to make sure that your blogs are regularly posting new content.

Google's social impact should be taken seriously though. It is a major change that is bound to have a wide impact on business owners. While the changes do seem to be largely positive, it is still important that you keep your readers in mind. If you do not update your content regularly, you will lose a lot of people. Google has done an amazing job of making their platform easy to use and while it may not be as easy to rank with keywords, it is still much better than the rest.
