Google has introduced a new way for users to explore high-quality knowledge within its AI-powered research assistant, NotebookLM. The company has launched “Featured Notebooks,” a curated set of collections created in collaboration with authors, researchers, publishers and nonprofits.

These notebooks cover a broad range of topics, from science and wellbeing to literature and financial markets, and are designed to help users extract meaningful insights from trusted sources.

Each notebook comes equipped with NotebookLM’s full suite of tools, including AI-generated answers with citations, mind maps for visual exploration, and pre-recorded audio overviews.

The launch lineup includes resources for things like longevity advice, a digital science guide to Yellowstone National Park, and parenting tips. Other highlights include a notebook based on Arthur C. Brooks’ “How to Build A Life” columns in The Atlantic, a compilation of global wellbeing data from Our World in Data, and a searchable version of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare.

Notably, NotebookLM now features a collection based on The Economist’s The World Ahead 2025, marking the publication’s first AI-focused collaboration.

“This public notebook will feature our forward-looking journalism,” said Luke Bradley-Jones, President of The Economist.

Nicholas Thompson, CEO of The Atlantic, as another partner in the initiative, added, “The books of the future won’t just be static: some will talk to you, some will evolve with you, and some will exist in forms we can’t imagine now. We’re delighted to partner with Google in its pioneering work on this front.”

The announcement follows Google’s rollout of public notebook sharing last month. More than 140,000 public notebooks have since been created by users exploring everything from academic papers to earnings reports. With Featured Notebooks, Google aims to accelerate research workflows by letting users tap into expert-curated resources directly.

The feature is now rolling out to desktop users and will expand over time with new partnerships and topics.
