Back in 1950, a little lady by the name of Ella Goodson went to work in a small cafe near Tomball. Four years later, the owner of the cafe decided to sell out. He convinced Mrs. Goodson that she was the only person he knew that could "make a go of it" at the cafe.

What a gem! How could i have missed this place living a town away? So good, the service is the best ever, and we met the management - nicest folks in town. Had chicken fried chicken, fried mushrooms and mushroom burger - couldn't walk afterwards. But worth it. YUM. Do not miss.
An oldie but a goodie!! This place is fantastic. Always good service and not much wait time to get in on weekends. Chicken Fried Steak really IS the best. Fried okra and fried zucchini is delicious. Atmosphere is quaint. It's great for large parties and kid friendly.
A must place to go eat when I'm in Houston. The chicken fried steak is the star of the show and the gravy and every accompaniment I have tasted were all delicious! Been here over a dozen times and the food is quite consistent. A local staple for those that live in the area and is a place worth visiting for chicken fried steak.
I posted a review a few years ago and it remains the same. We took our high school basketball team here and it was great! Home cooking at its finest. From the chicken fried steak to the catfish to the pot roast. All Delicious!! Everyone left full. Staff and manager very friendly and accommodating. Highly Recommend!!!
Great and fast service! We came on Sunday with our baseball team and they seated us quickly (thanks to call ahead for a party of 25) and the food all came out fresh and quickly. We had orders from Burgers, Steak, Shrimp Alfredo, and of course lots of Chicken Fried Steak! Everyone left happy and full!!
