Prostitution Racket in Goa under the name of Escorts Services – GPCC Letter to DGP Goa

The GPCC Secretary Durgadas Kamat has alleged in the press conference that the prostitution services in on rise in Goa under the name of Escorts services and it is increasing by the day. Pimps are operating on the platform of the internet. Prostitution in Goa is going the Hi-Tech way for the last couple of years. The increase in the websites of Escorts services in Goa is putting our state on the international map as prostitution destination. “This hurts us a lot as we don’t want our beautiful Goa to be Pattaya or Las Vegas. We have come across more than 100 websites which openly market & advertising prostitution in Goa which tarnish our state’s image”. Said Kamat.
According to Mr. Kamat police is doing the eyewash of the people by telling that they are unable to trace the culprits as the site hosted on the server which are not in India, while it reality is that they can easily trace the culprits by finding out the registrar and their contact details of the domain name owners of the said websites and their hosting providers by searching it on the whois lookup online. Another concern of the police is that they are unable to trace the mobile numbers of the culprits “We would like to suggest that Mobile Number & location of the pimps can be easily found out through the mobile service providers”. Alleged Mr. Kamat “We have serious doubt that whether there is Pimp Police Nexus in prostitution in Goa”. He further added.
Now let’s have a look at the revenue generation model of the Escorts services in Goa, according to Kamat considering that each website gets 1 customer per day which is multiplied by 100 websites for 30 days @ Rs. 15000/- per Escort Service, the monthly revenue runs into the room of 4 crore per month which is the huge amount. “We would not even know whether these amounts are used for any terror activity”. Said Mr. Kamat
“Internet service providers (ISPs) serve as a gateway to the Internet. Sites that contain illegal content that people access can be easily blocked .When we access certain websites through the Internet it travels through the internet service provider’s servers. They have a right to block the access to sites that provide illegal content that they do not wish to travel through their servers. We sincerely request you to direct the cyber cell of Goa police to write to all the internet service providers, so that these websites can be blocked and save our Goa’s image been getting tarnished at a Global level.” Kamat addressed to DGP of Goa
“Kindly find Annexure attached with this letter, which contain the names of the websites which we have found marketing prostitution at the cost of brand Goa. Hope you will do the needful at the earliest. Awaiting a prompt action & reply from your end on this matter”. He further added.
