Global Climate & Sustainability IFSSustainabilityIFS
We invite you to a virtual Ingress First Saturday on the topic of sustainability and environmental protection. We want to discuss ideas, thoughts, problems and solutions on the topic and encourage you to take action yourself. For this we have designed a community challenge, the most popular projects will be rewarded with prizes at the end.
It doesn't matter if you participate in this event or if you organize your own IFS with this topic. We look forward to hearing from you and your ideas.
Welcome agents, the world around us is changing.
Our planet is perfectly created for life, there is air to breathe, water to drink. The flora and fauna offers a huge variety. A paradise. In the last 150 years, efforts to destroy our planet have increased ans we all contribute to this.
In 1979, experts under the leadership of the UN discussed the effects of man-made climate change and ways to counteract it. This later became the annual United Nations Climate Change Conference. This led to the Kyoto Protocol in 1997 and the Paris Agreement in 2015, in which 195 signatory countries committed themselves to significantly reducing CO2 emissions. At the beginning of November 2021, the 26th Climate Change Conference will take place in Glasgow, where numerous representatives of various countries of the world will meet again and discuss the world climate.
But not only governments can change something. We can also be pioneers in small groups, alone or with the entire Ingress community for more sustainability and against environmental pollution. After all, we want to explore our playground Earth for a while longer.
