Global Conservation Leadership Opportunity with the Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP)
Diana LuelThe Future Conservationist Award is an international opportunity offered by the Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP) to support early-career conservationists who are working to protect threatened wildlife and ecosystems. Selected teams can receive a project grant of up to $15,000, along with long-term support through CLP’s global Alumni Network, which includes access to funding opportunities, professional training, and expert mentorship.
To be eligible, projects must focus on globally threatened species listed by the IUCN Red List (such as Critically Endangered, Endangered, Vulnerable, or Data Deficient species) or address urgent conservation needs. Projects may involve areas like climate change, habitat restoration, community development, Indigenous participation, and environmental policy. Projects must run for 3 to 12 months, take place in an eligible country, and be led by a team of at least three people, all of whom must be early in their conservation careers (no more than five years of experience). Team members must also be nationals of the project country, with one exception allowed if well justified.
