Give Us Our Bare Beach Back!!!!

What more can be said about the nude beach scenario at San Onofre ? The news has been covered a thousand times in web logs and news articles from around the globe. The net is packed with stories about the San Onofre nudity prohibition of 2008 (which did not really take enforced effect until the summer of 2010 - the worst summer of my life, which I Will get back to).
For those who aren't comfortable with San Onofre, or the situation with the naked beach there, I've supplied some links at the end of this post that I highly suggest checking out. The people has been dealt an injustice there, one that needs considerably more media attention than it's received, and it's been my passion since the nudity ban to bring this situation to the public's attention.
Here's a really short recap: A small handful of non-elected park rangers and bureaucrats have essentially taken away the right of "The People" to skinny dip at the playa in California. Every bare beach in California, that dwells on State Park property, is changed. Individuals who did this are apparently unaccountable to the general public, and it was done with zero public input or outcry. They even used a technicality to attain their target in appeals court, and they used your tax money to get it done.
Independent in the nudity-prohibition, is the implication of what can be attained, behind "The People's" backs, by the number of power that's vested in this kind of small group of non-elected state workers. Nudity was banned. Booze continues to be prohibited. What'll be next? What ban will the next private dislike or private-moral-code impose upon us? The possibilities are staggering.
It's been several months since I Have written anything about San Onofre. Truthfully, I've felt fairly jaded, even bitter, about the nudity ban, and the California State Parks system's treatment of naturists. So, once I was encouraged to write another article about San Onofre, I was hesitant to accept - I wanted to, but I didn't. I dreaded the vibe. Bringing the ideas, and pain of it back to the vanguard.. I simply wasn't sure if I was ready to go there. As you can see, I decided that confronting the duty of sharing this life-changing injustice, and continuing to propagate the word, trumped my own negative emotions.
https://s3.amazonaws.com/naturist-last/nudist-family-pics.html am not the only individual who feels hurt about San Onofre, there are many. follow have been a "routine" at San Onofre's bare beach - which we consult with as Trail 6, although it's a long way from your legitimate Trail 6 path - for several years. I am also the creator and moderator of the Friends of San Onofre Beach (Official) Facebook group, so I'm able ot say with 100% conviction that everybody who has ever enjoyed a playa moment at Trail 6, even if it was many years past, even if they stayed clothed, desires the naked beach back.
Why can we want it back so bad? Why not simply give up, and go to Blacks? Well, as I said, ALL Cal State Park Beaches are affected by the nudity prohibition. Blacks is part of Torrey Pines State Park. It's now not under fire, but it's easy to understand that Blacks is living on borrowed time. Furthermore, why should all the Los Angeles and Orange County people need to drive all the way to San Diego, when we've got a perfectly good nude beach at San Onofre?
Fine, perhaps we should just quit our bitching and wear clothing to the beach. The people who are responsible for the nudity ban think that is a sensible option. They feel that being nude at a playa, even one as distant as

Trail 6, should be a crime, and they have now made it so. For us unclothed beach lovers, nevertheless, wearing clothing is most certainly not a great option. For over thirty years we've all been enjoying the bare beach at San Onofre in perfect harmony with the law, the rangers, the public, the military and nature.
The San Onofre naked beach regulars have worked hard over the years to protect their cherished territory: Keeping the playa free of garbage, self-policing the sand, creating the FOSOB group and offering their time to hand out flyers and educating newbies on nude beach etiquette (no sex, no cameras, etc.), working with the rangers to make sure novices were conscious of the playa rules (no tents or glass, etc), reporting the occasional crime, chasing off perverts and hidden camera voyeurs, etc., etc..
Why is the nude beach at San Onofre so "Cherished", you might inquire?
First, https://s3.amazonaws.com/naturist-last/index.html need to realize there are no other nude beaches in all of Southern California's Ventura, Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Variable in the residents of the inland counties of Riverside and San Bernardino, you might have a playa-using population base of almost eighteen million individuals. That amount includes a hell of a lot of naturists and nude beach supporters, and the bare beach goers from that massive population base have been relying on San Onofre's bare beach as their only nude beach, within a realistic traveling distance for regular weekend unclothed beach visits.
The distant, hike-in, dead-end, out-of-the-limelight place of San Onofre's Trail 6 (T6) unclothed beach make it THE perfect nude beach location.

Other things that make San Onofre's nude beach so unique and special are: great surf, warm summer water, friendly cliff & oilrig-free ocean scenery, warm friendly people, camping, and a close proximity to the extremely cool town of San Clemente - where lots of San Onofre visitors like to hang out and party in the evening after a beach day.
I've hardly touched on the people, and of course the vibe. You get to be a pretty tight-knit group of fun loving bare beach buddies when you've been calling T6 your "home far from home" for as long as many of the regulars have. Many of us have literally grown up there. I've been going there on and off since the early eighties; many of my T6 pals out date me. Everyone is having a fun time every time you see them. The nudies at T6 have become a large playa family, surfing together, playing volleyball, frisbee, beach golf, sunning, camping, BBQ's, and simply hanging out with pals.
San Onofre wasn't just a nude beach, it was a lifestyle. The greatest lifestyle most of us regulars could ever conceive of. Our lives away from the plage were centered around our life at the sand. Certainly most of us also see bare resorts and hotsprings, but it's the plage all of US crave. And you'd be hard pressed to find an improved group of folks.
I have a lot of amazing memories of T6, from world class sunsets, to stealing credit for building the sand trail over the stone from my pal.
