Des mystérieuses créatures volantes nommées Zai apparaissent soudainement.
Afin de les combattre, l'humanité crée des avions de chasse appelés "Daughters" ainsi que le mécanisme de combat automatique "Anima", qui prendre la forme de filles humaines.
