From what I understand, curly-haired girls like you, especially when your hair is thick, should layer. Otherwise, your hair will look like a pyramid. I’m not a hairstylist, but I imagine that if your hairstylist does something strategic and technical with your hair, you can probably work a blunt cut (I believe I’ve heard it happen with a friend before). In most instances, you will have to resort to a layered look unless you intend to keep it straight.

I embrace any woman who wishes to cut her hair short. Should you get a haircut? I say, yes. However, your description is a little vague. I don’t know what you look like, i.e. your face shape, etc. So I can’t throw it out there that you should get one hair cut over another, let alone a hair color suggestion over another. You mentioned Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Stroup. Both women are very beautiful with very beautiful hair. If you look anything like them or have facial characteristics similar to theirs, then I suggest you go for it. Nothing is stopping you from changing your hair, but yourself.
When I got my haircut in the Spring, I was hoping to cut my hair like Jessica Stroup’s bob (not the pixie, of course). I didn’t have the chance to print the picture out, so I just found something else in a magazine.
I wish I saw your message sooner. The July 2011 issues are off the newsstands by now. I don’t subscribe to Marie Claire as much as I would like to. I have Harper’s Bazaar, but because of the way the magazine is, I feel it’s less interactive with its readers/random people in getting them involved in a new look. Their content seem to involve celebrities and socialites to maintain its high-end aesthetic. I’ll keep a look out for it.
