My daughter was so excited to play with this flying pixie. She immediately started to play with it (after a good charge). The pixie was flying perfectly until it came too close to my daughters long, beautiful hair. The pixie entangled itself in my daughter’s hair all the way to the root. To get it out was traumatizing for her. It required scissors and ripping of hair to remove the pixie. I’m returning this ASAP. I don’t recommend this for any little girl with long hair. Unless you want to give them an at-home hair cut.

Not to be dramatic but this "flying fairy" is seriously a spawn of Satan. Within the first 5 minutes of opening the package she slammed into the TV and tightly wrapped herself in my 4 year olds hair. I dont know how this toy passed any phase of testing, its truly dangerous even to adults. You cant even catch her without it hitting you hands hard enough to hurt. Extremely disappointing to the kids as it has a very exciting presentation with the sure promise of fun. The video depicts the fairy as a gentle flutter that hovers around a room with sensitive sensors. However in actuality it starts off pretty powerful and once it takes off immediately slams into walls and other nearby objects. If you hold your hand underneath it will jolt upward but to no advantage in trying to control it. Overall a terrible experience and extremely disappointing. The decision to return was a quick one.

Please be aware this toy is dangerous ! Not only did it get completely tangled in my daughters hair but it slashed her face when it flew too close to her and now she has this huge mark all across her cheek. Needless to say the pixie flyer is being returned tomorrow. We received it today and the girls were so excited but after 2 back to back incidents it’s completely not worth keeping. Save your money and buy a different toy

This toy is dangerous, and I’m shocked it’s still being sold. I purchased two. One for my daughter and the other for her friend. First, every time it hit my daughter, it hurt her. The skirt blades left marks on her hand. It was hitting walls and the ceiling. Glad our fire place has a glass cover, or it would have ended up in flames. It’s impossible to control. Then, the second one flew right into my daughter’s friend’s hair and immediately wound itself up all the way to the scalp. After what felt like an hour of trying to untangle it, even taking it apart, her hair was ruined. This all happened within the first ten minutes of opening the toys. The girls are pretty freaked out, needless to say.

I bought this for my daughter for her birthday as she has seen some commercials with this product and loved it. We got it and charged it. The first time it worked great. After the first takeoff, it completely stopped working! It wouldn't spin, it wouldn't charge, it wouldn't do anything. It is VERY flimsy and unstable. I don't recommend this product, even if the price is low, its just not a well made product. I returned my product and exchanged it for another. If the new product is just as bad, I'm returning it all together to get my money back because its awful.

EDIT: I called Hatchimals customer service and they’re sending a replacement. It was a quick and easy phone call, and went very smoothly, so I updated to three stars for good customer service. We gave this item to our daughter for her 6th birthday and it worked amazingly well for about five minutes before crashing into a wall and breaking. It isn’t an easy fix, as the plastic attachment actually broke from the impact. It would be a great product if it was higher quality.

We call this the death fairy. Our one year old loves it and insists that it must fly all the time. Once it’s in the air our whole family (except fearless one year old) runs for cover. Our daughter hides under pillows and is in a state of terror until it finally stops. If this death fairy catches you it will pummel you with its wings worse than Mike Tyson beat up Trevor Berbick. But this for your worst enemy... get them two.

Ok the first one didn't work at all, so I bought another because my daughter was excited and didn't want to wait two weeks for it to be returned to the factory (as the tech support guy suggested). I'm still giving it 5 stars because it's so much fun now that we have a functioning one. It's made for little girls, sure, and my daughter loves it, but I like it too and I'm a grown man. So there. I hope it lasts. It crashes a fair amount and so far is no worse for wear. We have a robot dinosaur from the same company (spin master) and it is still working great after 5 years and it never ceases to amuse this geeky dad with its crazy antics.

NOT worth buying.

Certainly NOT worth buying, difficult to handle, can't catch and stop it. It was a birthday present for my 6 year old Granddaughter and it was a real disappointment. I wish I had purchased a £9.99 cheap version!!!!!

Erstmal diese Puppe war zu laut und meine Kinder haben Angst gehabt vor allem auch unsere Katze. Und ich konnte gar nicht mit dieser Puppe spielen wie es auf dem Video in Werbung. Kinder können damit gar nicht anfangen. Ich habe extra videos bei youtube angemacht trotzdem hat es nicht funktioniert ich konnte sie in Lüfter nicht kontrollieren. Sie ist die ganze Zeit nach oben geflogen. Ich weiß nicht ich bin vielleicht so dumm für dieses Spielzeug. Aber Verarbeitung und Qualität ist echt prima sie schaut so süß aus😊

Lasted less than 2 weeks

Daughter was desperate for this for her birthday. It seemed great, if difficult to control, at first, but after a few plays it has stopped working properly and just flies into hands/walls/faces. Great disappointment to my 7 year old.

Je suis sidérée que ce soit conseillé aux enfants dès 6 ans. C'est une sorte de drone, la jupe ressemble à des pales d'hélicoptère et lorsque ça tourne c'est très dangereux. Impossible a maitriser pour des enfants, déjà difficile pour un adulte. Au premier vol la fée est restée coincée au plafond, puis, lorsque j'ai essayé de la récupérer, elle a foncé dans un abat-jour qui en a gardé des marques... C'est dire que dans un visage ou une main... Un vrai danger.

Make sure there’s nothing on the floor you can trip on while guiding her around. No cords or anything. So clear a spot, make room and get ready to fly. Make sure you put your hair up or tie it back before you fly and keep away from the eyes, face or head. Hatchimals Pixies Crystal Flyers has been safety tested and is guided by your hands through a built-in sensor which allows it to detect where your hands are and hovers above them. The Crystal Flyers also features an auto-stop function so if you touch her wings mid-flight, she'll stop flight.
What if I want to stop my Crystal Flyers flying mid-flight?
Grab her legs and gently tap the wings to halt flight, you can also turn her sideways while she’s spinning and she will stop. To reactivate, turn her off and on again using the switch at the bottom.
What if my Crystal Flyers flies too high?
Try resetting the Pixie by turning her ON and OFF again. Ensure you are keeping adequate distance between your hand and the Pixie. If you get too close, she’ll fly farther away. This could be causing her to fly very high unintentionally. If that doesn't work, reset and launch Pixie from her base.
What if my Crystal Flyers does not lift properly?
Make sure your Pixie is charged using her included USB charging cable. Check that the wings can move freely. After charging turn her on with the little switch at the bottom. Her blinking LED light will begin to slowly flash and then speed up as her wings begin to flutter and then spin faster and faster. If your Pixie is running low on charge, the LED light will flash while she’s flying. You can also tell she needs charging if she isn’t having a good lift off. If you ignore her flashing warning, she will eventually land on her own and turn off by herself. Don’t forget she comes with her own USB cable at on the bottom of the stand.
