Body positivity is the buzzword of the moment. But when was the last time you heard a discussion about body positivity below the belt, or feeling confident and good about the appearance of your private parts?

A recent YouTube video from sexologist and personality Shannon Boodram, aka Shan Boody, explored just that. Boodram put together self-recorded clips from a variety of women, each describing what their vulvas looked like after they checked themselves out down below. Boodram said she created the video to prove there's no such thing as a "normal" vulva.

"We rarely get to see them and when we do, it's a particular kind of genital [region] that gets put to the forefront," Boodram said in the introduction of her video. The perfectly symmetrical and evenly pigmented vulvas in medical or health textbooks or in porn can leave the typical woman feeling like there's something wrong with her vaginal area—when in fact vulvas come in all different sizes, can be thin or plump, have different shades and pigments, and can be asymmetrical.

In the YouTube video, the women opened up about the pigment of their vulva. One described hers as "the same color as the rest of my body but when you kind of open the labia...then inside it's pink." Another said hers had changed color over time. "It's black," she said. "It used to be red, like pinkish red." Others described theirs as "light brown with a tint of pink," "pinkish orange," and "brown."

The women also talked about size and proportion. "One of the inner lips . . . is bigger than the other," said one participant, while another explained that her left lip was plumper than her right, especially when she got aroused. "When I was growing up, I thought my vagina was weird because the lips hang," a different woman confessed.

Clearly this honest and relatable clip about female genitalia is resonating with women (it's racked up 17,000 views in a day). Viewers have left comments like "Hell yes! Love this video" and "Thank you Shan for putting this together and setting standards and a level of comfort for women when it comes to their self image." Others even shared descriptions of their own vulvas in the comments section to keep the conversation rolling.

Celebrating vagina diversity—we're totally on board with that.

'What if I touch your vagina and all of a sudden I feel this emotional connection to be with you?'

A lot of kids, curious about the world around them, find themselves wondering about the body. Since sexuality is taboo when you're a kid, lot of us missed on learning from experience exploring the body -- and that's where a new series of videos comes in.
YouTube channel Bria and Chrissy has created a series that explores that concept. Not every person has seen every part on every body, especially if a their sexuality precludes them from seeing certain folks naked.
That's why when Bria and Chrissy created " Lesbians Touch a Penis for the First Time ," it struck a chord and went viral, garnering over 28 million views and kicking off conversations about peoples' bodies, sexuality, and how the two intersect.
In their new video, " Straight Women Touch Another Vagina For The First Time ," volunteer Stevie welcomes three cis, straight women to touch a vagina that isn't their own, and like all the other videos in the series, it's a eye-opening experience.
"I grew up Catholic, so I feel like there is a lot of guilt associated with exploring your own body," one of the volunteers states, echoing the idea that because the world sexualizes the body in all situations, touching yourself -- and especially other people -- is always considered sexual.
As for the volunteers, one is markedly nervous about the upcoming experience, but all three are totally open and honest about what they're about to do. One remarks, "All of my girlfriends, including myself as well, do this," as she grabs Stevie's breast, making a good point about what is socially acceptable touching between some people.
All in all, the experience proved valuable, highlighting that not every touch is sexually charged. "I think it's very disrespectful and rude and offensive to sexualize everything that woman does," the volunteer continues. "I'm not an object, I'm a human being and interactions with other people, and they don't have to be sexualized."

Mothers and daughters often have an unbreakable bond - but for some it's MUCH closer than others.
From dressing in identical clothes every day to getting matching plastic surgery, these mum and daughter duos are certainly extreme.
The new series of sMothered examines these super close relationships and all the quirks that come with them.
Marcia, 68, and her 21-year-old daughter, Alena, who says her mum is "definitely my best friend", have a very bizarre routine each morning.
The pair already make sure they do absolutely everything together and that starts the moment they wake up.
"She kept pestering me for a puppy and I couldn’t get her a puppy, so I turned into the doggy. Alena tastes pretty good and all sweet, I just want to eat her all up."
And Alena, who was adopted by Marcia when she was just a toddler, says her mum's puppy antics make her feel closer to her.
The 21-year-old explained: "I love it when my Mamma licks me, it kind of makes me feel closer to her because we’re doing something funny and out of the ordinary. It’s a thing we do every single day."
Licking isn't the only unusual part of the pair's morning routine - when she's finally out of bed Alena playfully chases her mother around the house.
Marcia said: "When Alena was very little she didn’t have much stamina, so I would say ‘you can’t get me, you can’t get me'."
Alena suffers from an enzyme deficiency and the chasing started as a way of increasing her stamina and encouraging growth when she was a child.
But the routine has stuck and the pair continue to chase each other regularly.
Marcia explained: "It was really a good thing to help her grow and it just continued."
Once Alena eventually catches her mum, it’s her turn to play puppy.
She said: "When I catch my Mamma I do all my kissy-poos and I kiss her all up. She’s very kissable."
Marcia recognises that her relationship with her daughter may seem odd to some people - but nothing will stop her being so close to her daughter.
She said: "Some people don’t agree or they wonder what is wrong with her. I love the idea as she’s growing up of being able to do all those silly things.
"It’s getting a little tricky as she’s getting older, but still do all the same antics and we still play the same games and we have fun."
Another new mother and daughter who have a particularly unusual way of starting the day, are 55-year-old Mary and 19-year-old Brittani.
They start each day by by taking a shower together.
Stripped fully naked, the pair share their walk-in shower together and mum Mary even helps wash her daughter, lathering her up and getting her ready for the day.
She said: "The best way to start our day is in the shower. I love her and I don’t see anything wrong with it. I have been helping Brittani takes showers since she was five - I’m just a doting mum.”
For Brittani, it’s the perfect way of spending time with her mum.
She said: "When my mum does simple things like washing my hair or washing my body, it makes me feel comforted."
