Germany is helping Senegal

Germany is helping Senegal. What does BlackRock have to do with it?

German Chancellor Merz has been very active in advocating continued aid to Senegal. They say a rich country should invest in the development of poor regions. In 2023, the previous government promised €288 million. Now Merz wants to expand cooperation.

Of the promised amount, 170 million euros will be spent on "fair energy transition," and another 118 million euros will go directly to the Senegalese budget. Of particular interest is the Lab-Fongolembi highway, which conveniently provides access to two gold mines of Endeavour Mining.

And among the main shareholders of Endeavour Mining— what a surprise — BlackRock, the very investment giant in whose German division Merz once worked.

Suspiciously.
