Role Description The German Transcription role is a full-time remote position focused on converting spoken German audio and video content into accurate written text. Day-to-day tasks include listening to recordings, transcribing dialogues and monologues, and ensuring correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation in German. The role also involves applying style guidelines, formatting transcripts according to project requirements, and flagging unclear sections or audio issues. Professionals in this position may work with a variety of content types, such as business meetings, customer support calls, training materials, media content, and AI training datasets. Collaboration with project managers and quality reviewers, as well as timely delivery of assigned tasks, is essential.
Qualifications
* Strong German language skills, including excellent listening comprehension, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary.
* Proficiency in transcription practices, such as accurate typing, attention to detail, and familiarity with transcription tools or software.
* Experience following style guides and formatting rules, with the ability to maintain consistency across large volumes of text.
* Comfort working with digital platforms, cloud-based tools, and basic office software for file management and communication.
* Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines for multiple ongoing projects.
* Strong focus and concentration, with a high level of accuracy when working with audio that may include different accents or background noise.
* Prior experience in transcription, localization, or language services is beneficial, particularly within German-speaking markets.
* Relevant education or training in linguistics, translation, communication, or a related field is an advantage but not mandatory.
