Role Description The German Teacher for children role at Berndt Education is a remote teaching position focused on delivering engaging, age-appropriate one-to-one online lessons. In this role, you will plan and conduct interactive German lessons for children across a range of proficiency levels, following the BE Active Learning System and using digital tools and resources. You will assess learner progress regularly, provide clear feedback to children and their caregivers, and adjust lesson plans to support each child’s individual goals. Daily tasks include preparing learning materials, documenting lesson outcomes, collaborating with the academic team on best practices, and maintaining a consistent schedule that supports learners in different time zones. This position also involves promoting a safe, inclusive, and motivating online classroom environment that encourages children to participate actively and enjoy learning German.
Qualifications
* Strong German Teaching and Tutoring skills, with experience adapting lessons to children’s ages, interests, and learning goals.
* Proficiency in Teaching and Education methodologies, including child-centered, communicative, and interactive approaches.
* Experience in Training or coaching learners, including providing constructive feedback and tracking progress over time.
* Native or near-native proficiency in German and strong command of English for communication with families and colleagues.
* Bachelor’s degree in Education, German, Linguistics, or a related field (or equivalent teaching experience); teaching certifications or QTS/PGCE, DaF/DaZ, or similar credentials are an advantage.
* Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive, supportive online classroom, with strong digital literacy and comfort using virtual teaching platforms.
* Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills, with reliability in managing remote work and cross-time-zone schedules.
* Prior experience teaching children online, especially in structured language programs or exam preparation, is highly beneficial.
