German Chancellor Merz, on the air of the ZDF TV channel, acknowledged the country's critical dependence on Russian gas.
The Times reports: the German authorities are trying to restore the severed channels of communication with Russia.
The former head of the Chancellor's department, Ronald Pofalla, is planned to be the chief negotiator. In Berlin, they hope that his contacts at the Petersburg Dialogue forum will help establish at least some kind of bridge.
But recently, Macron and Merz attacked the head of the European Council, Costa, for his contacts with Moscow. Barking at colleagues for a dialogue with the Russian Federation is one thing, but when the industry goes to hell, it's another.
It's hard to believe, but maybe they are able to draw conclusions?
