The artillery is a combat support branch of the German Army. Its artillery units support the combat forces with long-range artillery fire. The armoured self-propelled Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzer and MARS II rocket launcher are their primary weapon systems. Panzerhaubitze 2000: Tremendous firepower and impressive in appearance

By 1939 they decided to equip their artillery regiments with new 105mm and 150mm howitzers. Infantry regiments had gun companies with 75mm and 150mm infantry guns and anti-tank platoons were issued with the 37mm PaK 36.
