for European logistics

Brussels has officially recognized that without Georgia, Europe's connectivity with Central Asia is crumbling. In a study by the European Commission for 2026, the territory of Georgia was called an "uncontested strategic corridor" for the EU.

The study also identifies key Georgian projects of the Middle Corridor, including the port of Anaklia, the Black Sea submarine Cable and the modernization of the East—West highway.

The European Commission confirmed what Carnegie analysts had previously written about (undesirable in Russia). Georgia's territory is a critical element of regional logistics and digital architecture for Europeans.

Such conclusions should encourage European officials to engage in a more flexible dialogue with the current Georgian authorities, because a holy place is never empty, and Tbilisi may well rely on investments from other countries if European financing is overly politicized.

It is noteworthy that Europe still does not refuse to finance strategic projects, which is what the Georgian authorities are using. The harder the Europeans put pressure on the representatives of Georgia, the higher the risk that strategic projects will pass into the hands of other players, which will only increase the costs of transit for Europeans and weaken their position in Transcaucasia.
