Your application process will vary depending on the program you are applying to and your particular pathway into Georgian.
Before you apply for any full-time program, get familiar with the steps you need to take and the admission requirements you need to meet.
Browse through the 130+ full-time programs offered at Georgian. Make sure to check ontariocolleges.ca for program availability and start dates.

Make sure you know the admission requirements for your program . You’ll find requirements on your program’s webpage, in the Program Outline tab, under Admission Requirements and Admission Details.
A minimum of 70 per cent overall final average based on the top 6 Grade 12 U or M courses is required. In addition to the minimum average, applicants must also satisfy the respective program’s prerequisite requirements. Please be aware that some Georgian programs are limited enrolment programs and the cut-off average may increase depending on the number of applications received for that particular program. Get complete information at Lakehead Admissions .
Applicants who are currently registered in subjects required for admissions may receive a conditional acceptance to Georgian. If your acceptance is conditional, you’ll have to ensure all outstanding requirements are met before classes start. Possible requirements include: passing your courses, maintaining your grades, maintaining your GPA, completing your high school diploma (if you’re under 19) and if you’re applying for a graduate certificate – graduating from your current college or university. Please check Web for Admissions to see your outstanding conditions.
You may need to meet additional requirements if you’re applying to Georgian as a student in one of the following categories:
Advanced standing uses a number of relevant postsecondary credits from recognized and accredited institutions and/or relevant life/learning experience toward course exemptions in a student’s Georgian College program that places the student in a semester beyond their first.
If you’re applying to Georgian from another institution to a level greater than Level 1, you must complete your ontariocolleges.ca application, then contact ontariocolleges.ca at 1.888.892.2228 and indicate the requested level.
Starting levels indicate the year and semester in which you want to start a program. For example, Level 1 is the first semester of the first year, Level 2 is the second semester of the first year, Level 3 is the first semester of the second year, and so on.
Learn more about applying to Georgian College as an international student as well as academic and language proficiency requirements on the International Centre webpage .

For most courses, students must be of 19 years of age or have a grade 12 diploma. The below requirements may not apply for some general interest courses, specifically those offered to children and youth.
Applicants who are 19 years of age or older by the first day of classes and who lack the academic entrance qualifications may be considered for admission to an appropriate postsecondary program as mature applicants. Mature applicants will be considered on an individual basis. The admission requirement for postsecondary programs is a high school diploma (OSSD) with 30 credits at the general or college level or equivalent. Some programs have specific course prerequisites.
Part-time applicants may be admitted to college courses providing space is available and the applicant has met the admission requirements. Applicants to postsecondary diploma or certificate programs which require only the prerequisite courses of English and/or math may be admitted on a probationary basis and will be required to achieve a GPA of 60 per cent or higher after completing six credit courses.
NOTE: Acceptance for studying part-time does not guarantee the applicant full-time entry to a program in subsequent semesters.
Mature applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Must be 21 years of age or older by the first day of classes
Must have no recent unfavourable academic performance
Must have demonstrated potential for success in degree studies through academic accomplishments
The admission requirement for degree programs is a high school diploma (OSSD) with 30 credits or equivalent, plus six courses at the 4U or 4M level. Some programs have specific course prerequisites.
The admission requirement for graduate certificate programs is a college diploma or university degree. Some programs identify the specific area of study to be eligible.
Part-time students at Georgian College interested in applying to the first year of full-time studies, must apply through ontariocolleges.ca and follow the normal admission process. Part-time student status does not provide preferred access to a full-time program. Part-time registration for credit courses in full-time programs is encouraged provided space is available and admission requirements are met.
A prerequisite is a course (or other qualification) required as preparation for entry to another course. It is your responsibility to ensure that all prerequisite requirements are met before registering for a course. Course prerequisite and/or co-requisite requirements shown are those that are in place at the time of publication and are subject to change. Applicants will be advised of any requisite requirements during the registration process, or can contact the academic area for further details.
Applicants can be granted advanced standing of up to 75 per cent of a certificate or diploma program based on the number
