Georgia Tech Basketball Stuns No. 5 Ranked Duke in Thrilling Overtime Victory

Atlanta, GA — February 15, 2024 — In a game that will be remembered as one of the most electrifying in recent college basketball history, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets pulled off a stunning upset against the No. 5 ranked Duke Blue Devils, winning 89-87 in overtime at McCamish Pavilion.

Senior center Ebenezer Dowuona anchored the paint with 12 rebounds and 4 blocks, including a game-saving rejection in the final seconds of regulation to force overtime.

The Yellow Jackets’ victory marks their first win over a top-5 team since 2021 and could be a turning point for the program as they push for a spot in the NCAA Tournament. With this win, Georgia Tech improves to 16-8 overall and 8-5 in the ACC, while Duke drops to 20-4.
