The dad - who was wanted over allegations involving four generations of the family - is being held by police
A man allegedly involved in a family incest scandal has arrived back in Australia after he travelled to Britain.
Charlie Colt, 41, has been accused of fathering children with his sister and having sex with children in the family.
He is thought to have been arrested by police when he landed back in Australia.
It is believed that 40 adults and children were engaged in incest across four generations in a case which has been labelled one of the worst examples of inter-family relationships on record.
The extended family was living in squalor in two filthy caravans, sheds and tents without plumbing in remote New South Wales.
The family were said to be engaging in interfamilial sexual relations between siblings, parents, grandparents and grandchildren.
Colt – who has been given a false name under a court order – was intercepted by New South Wales police after they were alerted by the Department of Immigration, reports the Daily Telegraph in Australia.
Colt denies all allegations against himself and his family, but failed to appear at his scheduled court date in June, when police had hoped to successfully apply to use a DNA sample to prove he had been engaging in incest.
He told The Daily Telegraph: "I’ve never abused a child in my life, I’ve never abused another person.
"I love my whole family dearly, but not sexually. I think it’s absolutely disgusting, it’s wrong, it’s against everything we were brought up with."
Mr Colt claimed that the 'rumours' were started by a neighbour who was rebuffed by his sister, accused incest matriarch Betty Colt.
"She told him straight out no and then he turned around and said ‘I suppose you’re f ... ing your brothers aren’t you’. He was in the pub spreading it every night."
The Department of Family and Community Services raided the Colt property in 2012 and removed some of the children.
The scandal was revealed by a schoolyard conversation involving one of the children living in the compound who attended a local school.
One of the Colt children was overheard saying: "My sister is pregnant and we don't know which of my brothers is the father."
The property was in a state of squalor, with no toilets, showers or baths. The children were unwashed, wore dirty clothes and almost all had fungal infections on their feet.
Dirt caked the surfaces of stoves and cooking facilities, rotten vegetables lay in a refrigerator and a kangaroo was sleeping on one of the children's beds.
As well as the appalling conditions of the residence, the children had facial deformities, could not speak intelligibly, and did not know what a toothbrush or toilet paper were.
They were shy and made little eye contact, and the welfare officers learned that few were capable of intelligible speech.
Charlie's sister Betty, 46, was jailed earlier this month for a plot to kidnap her children from their carers.

Pseudonym of an American feral child (born 1957)
The first publicly released picture of Genie, taken in 1970, just after authorities took control of her care at the age of 13

^ In her dissertation on Genie, Susan Curtiss alluded to knowledge of additional details regarding Genie's childhood, which she did not discuss. [49]

^ Psychologist and autism specialist Mitzi Waltz noted in 2013 that, although psychologist Ole Ivar Lovaas was conducting autism research at UCLA during the time of Genie's case, no one who worked with Genie attempted to involve him in the case or sought his opinion on whether or not Genie was autistic. Years after the case study on Genie had ended, when somebody asked Susan Curtiss why they had not done so, Curtiss said she and the other scientists felt Lovaas' methods of aversion therapy would have unduly limited Genie's freedom and kept her from getting to the nurturing environment doctors and scientists sought for her. [2]

^ Lenneberg stated that he did not have any desire to study Genie and declined to participate, saying no definite conclusions could be drawn because the level of trauma associated with Genie's childhood would be impossible to discern.

^ As all of Genie's incorrect answers on the Mooney Face Test were pictures of either masks or caricatures of faces, Curtiss thought Genie may not have understood that she was only supposed to select the realistic looking faces and therefore may have been able to score even higher.

^ Since she did very well on some individual parts of the test, and because previous results had shown indications of utilizing both hemispheres, Curtiss believed Genie could have used her gestalt perception for some elements and was forced to use her analytic skills on others.
