It is interesting to point out that, in The Descendants of Cain, there is:

Enoch (also a city) and Irad, which may be Jared, but on the inverted order. Did Cain named his sons the same as Seth did?

There is also Methusael that made Lamech, which is alike Methuselah that made Lamech.

Would then Mehujael be Mahalalel and in another order?

I think that the best explanation i can give is that the Hebrew at the time was small and they shared cultures and probably thought about alike names.

I think a good example that those are different lines and people is that only Lamech have the exact same name, other names are alike, which makes it seem like common names in other countries, ex.: John, João; and that Lamech of Seth have a way different family than Lamech of Cain.

Malcolm and Simone made a video explaining what Malcolm think about such names and dates and why the ages are super-human. In his view, it is not talking about individuals, but tribes / nations:

In his theory, there is a strong correlation between the names of such individuals and tribes with alike names that lasted an alike numbers of years that matches the final age of said individuals and also biblical events like Babel Tower and The Flood.

This small description does not encompass other details presented in the video that may make it more plausible.

It is an interesting theory, i wont say it literally is about that, but it makes lot of sense. It still falls into the "correlation vs causation", but if you take in mind certain details, it may create an unlikeness of being mere correlation, then this gives it more validity.

I wont make a stance about it, but you guys already know i'm very dynamic and open about my belief, i don't hold into a denomination or theory like a team for the sake of it and try to defend it at all cost. If this theory get to be seem as pretty valid to me, i'm going to take it as part of my belief and use it for apologetics to things related to "human with inhuman ages".
