General Haugh and the Siege of Blackridge

In the war-torn land of Eldoria, where kingdoms clashed over territory and honor, one name struck fear into the hearts of enemies and inspired unwavering loyalty among his men—General Aldric Haugh, the Iron Wolf of the North.

For years, General Haugh had defended the northern borders of his kingdom, Valtoria, against the relentless raids of the savage Korsath tribes. His tactics were ruthless, his discipline unbreakable, and his sense of justice unwavering. But his greatest trial came not from the barbarians of the north, but from within his own ranks.

The Betrayal at Blackridge

The fortress of Blackridge, a key stronghold guarding the Silver Pass, had always been under Haugh’s command. But when the corrupt Lord Chancellor Malrik sought to weaken Haugh’s influence, he secretly ordered the garrison to stand down, allowing the Korsath horde to swarm the gates. Haugh’s own officers, bribed or threatened, turned against him, leaving him with only a handful of loyal soldiers.

Trapped inside the burning fortress, outnumbered ten to one, Haugh made his stand.

The Last Defense

With his greatsword Stormcleaver in hand, Haugh fought like a man possessed. He rallied his remaining men, turning the fortress’s corridors into killing grounds. Every hallway, every stairwell became a choke point where the Korsath invaders paid in blood for every step.

But the enemy kept coming.

Just as all seemed lost, Haugh did the unthinkable—he ordered the fortress’s own siege engines turned inward. With a thunderous crash, the walls of Blackridge collapsed, burying both the traitors and the Korsath invaders in rubble. Haugh and his surviving men barely escaped through the underground tunnels.

The Reckoning

Emerging from the ruins, Haugh marched straight to the capital, where Lord Chancellor Malrik was already celebrating his 'victory.' The traitor had not expected the Iron Wolf to return.

In a trial by combat before the king, Haugh faced Malrik’s champion—a monstrous mercenary known as the Bloodbear. The fight was brutal, but Haugh’s skill and fury prevailed. With Malrik’s treachery exposed, the king restored Haugh’s honor and gave him command of the entire northern army.

Legacy of the Iron Wolf

From that day on, General Haugh became more than a man—he became a legend. His name was whispered in fear by his enemies and roared in triumph by his soldiers. And though the wars of Eldoria would rage on, none dared betray the Iron Wolf again.

For as long as he drew breath, the northern borders would hold.

And the Korsath would learn to fear the night.
