Gargara was a city in the Troad region of Anatolia, founded in the 6th century BCE and abandoned in the 9th or 14th century CE. It was located near Mount Gargaron, a peak of Mount Ida, and had a temple, a fortification wall, and a harbor.

Gargara is a large genus of tree-hoppers, typical of the tribe Gargarini, erected by Charles Jean-Baptiste Amyot and Jean Guillaume Audinet-Serville in 1843. [1] There are widespread species records from Africa, Europe, Asia and Australia; [2] G. genistae can be found in southern Britain.
