Garfield Escape From Monday: A Spoiler-Light Primer

Garfield - Escape from Monday is a 3D platformer developed by OSome Studio and published by Microids, released on Steam on September 24, 2026. The setup is pure Garfield: Jon serves him a lasagna made from one of Chef Monday's recipes, it turns out to be full of vegetables, and Garfield faints into a nightmare where Monday announces he will re-educate the cat's taste buds. Garfield, naturally, just wants to wake up and find something better to eat.

How Garfield moves

The basics are jumping, climbing walls and curling into a ball. On top of that, three outfits change how you get around. The turkey suit lets Garfield take to the air, the surfer suit lets him slide across water, and the cowboy suit gives him a lasso for swinging. Much of the fun comes from recognising which outfit a stretch of level is built around.

What you collect

Lasagnas are the main collectible, and eating them helps Garfield get his sense of taste back. Other collectibles keep his morale up and can be spent on refurbishing Jon's house, which gives the hunt for hidden items a purpose beyond completion.

Friends and rivals

Jon, Odie, Arlene and Pookie help Garfield along the way, while Nermal and Squeak play his archenemies. The major confrontations follow that cast: Squeak guarding the cheese in a barn, a showdown with Nermal, a birthday party that gets out of hand, Odie chasing Garfield as a sheriff, and a final meeting with Monday himself.

Before you buy

The Steam listing describes three worlds and dozens of levels, and it lists the game as single-player only, so do not plan on co-op. It does list Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Family Sharing and Xbox controller support. Voice casting for the game had not been announced in the reference the wiki checked, so be careful with claims about who voices Garfield this time.

If you get stuck, the most useful habit is to read the dialogue: Monday's announcements usually tell you what the current stage wants from you.
