В любом случае, опасаться острой еды не нужно — эта острота в приличной степени отличается от привычной для европейца. Этo жгучий вкус перца чили , который стимулирует пищеварение и разжижает кровь, тем самым облегчает пребывание в жаркoм климате. К тому же рис достаточно пресный, поэтому немножко специй ему никогда не мешает. Несомненное достоинство местной кухни — это то, что еда в большинстве случаев постная и довольно легкая если не переедать , приготовленная на минимальном количестве кокосового мaсла и без животных жиров. Но настраивайтесь на то, что пища ланкийская отличается от привычного российского меню. Пробуйте что-то новенькое — Вам выдался отличный шанс! Заказывать лучше рыбу с белoй мякотью 'коралл фиш' , по вкусу наиболее напоминающую европейскую озерную. Акула , как правило, имеет несколько кисловатый привкус, к тому же акула жестковата но пробовать можно и нужно. Барракуду тоже можно попробовать, особенно если она хорошо обжарена в кляре. Креветки лучше попрoсить просто отварить — тогда можно распознать их нежный вкус чтобы наесться на человека нужно с полкило свежих креветок. Хотя многие обожают жареные в чесночном соусе креветочки — это тоже очень вкусно. Кальмары на острове достаточно маленькие, и они прекрасным образом подходят как закуска к пиву жаренные в масле с чесноком. Пробуйте и крабов и лобстеров , жареных на гриле. Их чаще подают, политыми кисло-сладким или чесночным соусом, с рисом или картофелем фри. Местные сладости весьма безопасны и вкусны, но лучше в приличных заведениях. А вот изделий с кремами лучше на всякий случай избегать. Ланкийские крепкие спиртные напитки на вкус так себе, но качества, все же, неплохого — главное, знать меру. Пробуйте и ланкийское пиво — очень приличное! В любом случае, если любите выпить, покупайте алкоголь в дьюти-фри. И, наконец, фрукты. Местный рынок Унаватуны — это прекрасное место для того, чтобы закупаться экзотическими фруктами подешевле: папайя, ананас, манго, авокадо и др. И никогда не отказывайте себе во фруктовых фрешах в местных кафешках — это всегда очень вкусно! Так же стоит посоветоваться присматриваться к заведениям, где обедают в большей степени местные жители — там всегда дешево и вкусно. Интересно, что ланкийцы чаще едят всего два раза в день: примерно в утра и вечера, а утром предпочитают пить чай с молоком и специями , который, к слову, бодрит хлеще самого лучшего кофе. Что касается конкретных ресторанов, то вот какие стали за последнее время заслуженными фаворитами среди туристов. Тут есть и привычный фаст-фуд очень вкусные бургеры! Все весьма вкусно, порции большие, персонал весьма услужлив. Единственный минус в том, что ресторан как бы вытянут вглубь пляжа, и поэтому столиков с видом на океан мало. Ну и то, что днем тут пребывать довольно сложно, так как зонтики маленькие, и пластиковая мeбель раскаляется так сильно, что сидеть бывает трудно, тогда как заседать внутри не очень приятно — там мало места и не очень чисто как будто бы. По сути, ресторанчик напоминает обычную едальню, но зато там очень дешево. Многие туристы называют это заведение лучшим рестораном на побережье. Действительно, приятно удивляют цены и большущие порции. Вкуснейшие фрэши, приятное обслуживание. Готовят очень вкусно! Наверное, это единственное место в городе, где к ласси сироп приносят отдельно, чтобы добавить по вкусу. Идеальное место и для завтрака, а к карри тут приносят пападам тонкая круглая лепёшка из чечевичной муки , дал пряное пюре из бобовых и салатик. Средний счет на двоих - около рупий. За рестораном можно видеть лесенку, по которой можно подняться на скалу и полюбоваться океаном очень живописно. Кстати, можете попросить хозяина ресторана выдать Вам стулья-гамаки и расслабиться за напитками, любуясь видами. Кстати, есть wi-fi. Очень симпатичный ресторан азиатской кухни и одно из самых крутых и дешевых заведений пляжа! Находится кафе в правом углу пляжа у храма и направо — и сюда даже можно прийти специально из другого конца пляжа ради вкусной еды. Том ям, спринг роллы, devil fish и многие другие блюда там просто великолепны некоторым кажется, что готовят тут даже лучше, чем в предыдущем ресторане , а пиво Лион стоит всего рупий самая дешевая цена в городе и одна из самых недорогих на острове. Ресторанчик чуть дороже предыдущих, но и он на вид более приличный хотя гламурным его очень трудно назвать. Это очень душевное место с отличной азиатской кухней, чудесными морепродуктами и приятным персоналом. Единственный минус — это малое количество столиков. Рядом с кафе на пляже есть лежаки, на которых днем можно полежать за рупий это они зря, потому что рядом есть Yellow бар или вроде того, где шезлонги предлагаются бесплатно. В целом ничего особенного, просто милый ресторан, куда можно хотя бы разок зайти на ужин. Это уголок для сладкоежек в Унаватуне. Само помещение небольшое где-то на десять посетителей или меньше , уютное, чистое и светлое. А-ля французский стиль, конечно, прослеживается. Официанты сoвершенно не навязчивые, хорошо говорят на английском языке. Цены на десерты ничуть не выше, чем в среднем по городу например, в среднем по рупий за пирожное. While english breakfast is great, pancake was just a little, can be improved. There is also yogurt, fruit and juice.. Some staff was friendly. Amazing little jungle area around cabana We saw monkeys, lizards, birds etc. Simple, but comfortable cabana. Very helpful staff. Delicious food in the restaurant. The bungalow was cute and comfortable, with a very nice big bed. The garden is nice and peaceful and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the busy road. The garden is lovely! The bungalows were clean and well mantained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a very good time in Kahuna. Local manager was great. Central location close to beach and at the same time very quiet and relaxing hotel area and garden. Perfect breakfast and service served on outdoor terrace. Nice rooms and huge terrace and great common room for the triple and double rooms above the reception. Bathrooms were fine but would benefit from a small renovation. The garden and also the lobby looked really nice and breakfast was delicious. The room was big and you found everything you need. Only the bathroom would need a little renovation. If you take a shower the water stays at the floor and the tap should be renewed. But its a budget room so thats ok. We got everything we nedded. The guys at this place were hospitable, nice and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and would come again. Quiet shady area with heaps of cool areas to chill out. Including hammocks. Having shower and washing your hair was too difficult. I had to rinse my hair under tap water even after they changed something in the bathroom. Other issue that, breakfast starts at 8 am and it made things difficult for us while diving because we had to be at diving school at 8. Once, they accepted to make the breakfast ready at 7. One of the staff was rude while others were more friendly and helpful. They need to be more flexible for breakfast times if there is a need. Great garden, good location, big room, good breakfast. I had booked the budget room in the main building, upon arrival I was upgraded free of charge to one of the small bungalows in the garden. We had two rooms for four nights in high Christmas season which meant a big but fair bill. So time consuming and expensive. The chalet was really near by other chalets, so you could hear literally everything. Also there was building behind the Chalet where the water was licking every night. One night it woke me up at 4 am. Also, there was no frige or any equipment in the Chalet - not even one glass. Very basic chalet. Towels were not changed in 4 days. The staff and the owner didnt care to much if we had any type of the request. Location is pretty ok, even on booking maps, it looked like its on the beach, no it takes mins walk. Kahuna has many small houses, where you can stay, but we took the cheaper way and stayed at a budget room there. Very bad staff and management, waited 1 hour to check in the hotel. Just near beach. The bathrooms was looking gross because of brown old stains in the toilet and the sink deep scrub and chemical cleaning necessary! The door of the Chalet had a hole and in general the whole room was open no closed walls so everything could crawl inside. The mosquito net had holes some other guests had Dengue fever Small things need to be fixed like door knobs. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Nice garden and hammocks to hang out. Breakfast was good except for the coffee which tasted like water. The bathroom was dirty and got flooded Everytime you shower There was only 1 socket in the whole room WiFi was really slow like everywhere in SL.
