A bit out of the way and tiny, this sushi restaurant is wonderful! We had the omakasse for two at lunch and the fish was superbly fresh, the sushis with just the right amount of rice.
Impeccable and friendly service!
This restaurant is run by a Japanese lady and a Japanese male chef. They are polite, efficient and ultimately deliver a calm and fabulously authentic Japanese dining experience.
I chose the “menu complet”. For €38, I had a starter (salmon tartare), a main (18 pieces... of sashimi), dessert (black sesame ice cream) and a drink (mineral water), which I felt was good value. I was able to go at my own pace and I did not feel rushed or hurried at any point.
Please note bookings are necessary. I walked in for lunch on a Thursday and it was jam packed and I was unsuccessful in securing a spot on my initial try.
Bookings can be made via email or phone however if wanting to make a reservation less than 24 hours in advance, it needs to be made via telephone.
Highly recommend visiting this cosy restaurant if you’re in the neighbourhood! More
Went to Izumi for dinner, yet again. The tasting menu didn’t seem as tasty this time around, though I still enjoyed. Recommended.
Hands down, THE best sushi in Paris. Japanese chef, very authentic. Fish is of the highest quality and the chef is a true master of his art. Highly recommend the eel as it is TO DIE FOR. Seriously.
Definitely a must when in Paris! Also... note that TripAdvisor has falsely marked this as open only on Tuesday and Saturday; it is open Tuesday TO Saturday, lunch and dinner. More
My wife and I dined at Izumi on a Saturday evening having made a reservation a while in advance. I had been here before and loved the sushi so returned for my birthday meal.
Izumi is a small restaurant with a sushi counter and a... number of tables close together. We went for the counter and I recommend others do as it affords the most space.
We had the omakase tasting menu for two priced at €110. We also had a Kirin beer each and some tap water.
The tasting menu was a seaweed salad, miso soup, 7 sashimi each then 18 sushi each. Some I had never tasted before, eg the half cooked prawn and the half cooked tuna. Like last time I visited, the quality was excellent. I lived in Japan for a few years and this is the best sushi I’ve had outside of Japan.
Service, however, was a bit slow this time. The waiter wanted to take the order despite having not brought menus over and he seemed very busy throughout the night, despite only a handful of people in the restaurant.
Overall though, highly recommended. More
Better than average sushi and very intentional in presentation (handmade pottery, sculpted wood) and selection (the fish was very fresh) but quite expensive. Nice, clean environment. An A for effort.

The most authentic experience in europe so far! This resto has 6 tables, and no fusion sushi to be seen, just traditional nigiri and sashimi. Delicious omakase menu at very affordable rate with no cheaping out! Amazing ingredients, rice was both firm and melting in... your mouth. Sake service very charming allowing you to choose your own cup. Chef and waitress are fantastic. Well worth the detour to Paris or St. Lazare. More
Dined alone in this small Japanese restaurant on a Wednesday evening. The proprietors spoke English, French and Japanese. Tables are very close together but the atmosphere was good.
I ordered the one person tasting menu which came with 7 pieces of sashimi followed by 12... pieces of sushi (all nigiri - salmon, tuna, sea bream fatty tuna (the best in my opinion) etc) and then 8 nigiri of prawn, eel, clam, eel and ikura (salmon roe). Each dish was served with wasabi / pickles as appropriate. All sushi / sashimi was excellent. Very tasty indeed. Also included was a bowl of edamame and miso soup to finish. I also had two large Kirin beers and a scoop of matcha ice cream - v nice. Service was friendly. The bill came to €72. Whilst a bit expensive, it was definitely worth it. Some of the best sushi I've had in Europe. I highly recommend. More
The restaurant is very small and cosy and you can see the chef preparing your meal. Anyway the food was not great for its price. The miso soup was average and the sushi too expensive; I spent 20 euros and I was still hungry. I... don't think i will go back. More

It is Tuesday but I saw some visitors were declined as the tables are fully booked. It... has 5 seats at the bar and 4 tables on total so it is better to book if you do not get disappointed. More
This little sushi bar (definitely a hole in the wall) was a place I was eager to try. My boyfriend loves sushi, and I am always trying to try new places in our area. The place is very small, which is not a problem... but... it was definitely smaller than I expected. We ordered two miso soups, a selection of maki and sushi, and a salmon chirashi. They were out of the first two things that I asked for. The miso soup had green beans (haricot vert) in them, which we both found strange. It was otherwise good. The fish in the tuna roll and chu toro sushi was cut WAY too thick. It was also incredibly fishy, which was really off-putting. The chirashi was great. The salmon had a great flavor and - it sounds simple - but the rice was great.
Overall, it was fine for a one-time thing, but - even though it's close to our apartment - we probably won't be going back. More
I would have rated 5 if I havent visited so many sushi restraunts in Japan. The place is not very large, but very comfortable, decolated with old Japanese movie posters and such. Both the sushi chef and the service personel were nice.
The place is... on the main street (Batignolles), which might be a bit ambiguous on the map (my company wanted to point it to the restraunt on the way out, but i wasnt so sure so we didnt). More

In a city full of "fake" sushi, it's always great to find the real stuff. We were delighted at the freshness and variety of the fish. The set menu had us stuffed to our gills at 36 euros - for an appetizer, main dish, dessert,... AND a choice of Kirin or Asahi! This is unbeatable for real sushi in Paris. There's a nice choice of sake too. Friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. Reservations a must! More
