Despite the importance that goals have for language learning (Lee & Bong, 2019), little is known about the effects on learner behaviours. Combining individualized (idiographic) and standardized (nomothetic) methodologies, this study investigated whether the self-concordance of learning goals formulated at the beginning of a program of language education affected engagement and resilience at the end of the first year. Following research demonstrating the mediating roles of goal effort and goal progress (Vasalampi et al., 2009), these variables were included in the study design. Participants were 41 teacher education students on a university program in Turkey. Data was collected on four occasions over two semesters. Analyses were carried out using path modelling. Results showed that starting the program with self-concordant goals had positive effects on engagement and resilience later in the year. Effects of self-concordance were mediated by goal effort and goal progress. For engagement, a direct effect of self-concordance was also found. Findings point to an important relationship between the quality of language learners’ goals and L2 learning behaviours. Further, the study highlights the value of idiographic methods in goal-focused research.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Media J. Todd Breasseale provided the following readout:
Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at the Pentagon as part of the Secretary General’s pre-Madrid Summit visit to Washington.
The Secretary thanked Secretary General Stoltenberg for his firm and principled leadership of the NATO Alliance and said that in the face of Russia’s unprovoked aggression against Ukraine, NATO has grown stronger and more united. The leaders agreed that Russia’s actions had galvanized the world to defend the rules-based international order.
Secretary Austin and Secretary General Stoltenberg discussed preparations for this month’s NATO Defense Ministerial and NATO’s Summit in Madrid. Both agreed that Allies were on track to adopt a revised Strategic Concept at Madrid and noted that Allies would discuss adjustments to NATO’s longer-term deterrence and defense posture.
Both leaders also highlighted the importance of defense spending. Secretary Austin said that in light of the new transatlantic security environment, spending two percent of GDP should be considered a floor, not a ceiling. Both also agreed on the importance of following through the NATO leaders’ 2021 decision to increase NATO’s commonly funded budgets.
Secretary Austin assured Secretary General Stoltenberg of the continuing U.S. commitment to the Alliance and outlined many of the recent deployment the United States has taken to assure Allies and deter further aggression.
Secretary General Stoltenberg acknowledged the leadership the United States provides to the Alliance and said he looked forward to welcoming Secretary Austin later this month in Brussels.

Why my annual average number equals to sum of average number in each month?

Total Case Number = COUNT ( 'Case Table' [Case Number] )
Total VALUE = SUM ('Main Table'[Value])
Total PC = CALCULATE ('Main Table'[Total VALUE], 'Main Table'[Key Figure] = "PC" )
Avg Case by PC = [Total Case Number]/[Total PC]

How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly

I'm encountering a calculation issue that I'm trying to have an average number by month using Total case number divide Total PC number. And Total case number divide Total PC number are calculated based on two different sheet, however I have used third sheet and link them together.
And you can see from below screenshot that the average Case by PC = 0.09, and it equals to the sum of each month in the bar chart. I'm wondering if there is anything wrong in my calculation. I' think average number should be a middle number in a fluctuation. Thanks!

Thanks for you sharing! I tried you DAX in my product enviroment and it did worked out as you stated. But I'm actually seeking the average of each month's average number, so I can use the it to do colour setting for columns, which means I need to manully create a baseline for the monthly average number. Thanks!
Share data in a format the can be pasted in an MS Excel file. Also, show the expected result very clearly .
I've copied the raw in another issue, and somehow I get the number that I want but not sure if the calculation logic is correct and have another issue in colour settings with some extra calculation. If you still interest, pls check this:
I would not be able to help with this one. My interest is more around calculations/modelling.
