we ate beef tartare, caviar, reindeer steak and traditional meatballs - everything was delicious! Plus great old fashioned. Service super polite and professional
This is one of few restaurants in Gamla Stan (Old Town) I could find for authentic local dishes (e.g. game meatballs, elk, reindeer, and so on). If you come to Restaurant Ardbeg Embassy, a reservation is highly recommended, or just like me, being seated in... the worst spot with the cold wind cut through the entrance behind me. However, the food and liveliness were worth it.

Game-meatballs were luscious, they weren’t gamy or pungent at all. That’s beyond my imagination! Also, the smoked deer salad is another must-eat, it’s heavenly.

The dessert was a favorite mistake- anything with ice cream is not my thing in winter, especially on a -5 degree day with icy wind howling. I wasn’t aware of the dessert is topped off with a scoop of ice cream when I ordered the foods. When it was delivered to my table, I had the first bite with a feeling of guilt. Mm…the melting ice cream with crushed nuts made an ambrosial taste, but not treacly. So, I polished it off swiftly! More
We just dropped in for coffee whilst walking through the Old Town - and loved the look and feel of the restaurant and its menu so we came back for evening meal. Yummy! The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly, welcoming and fun... - we had a fabulous and fun evening. One of our two best meals in Stockholm and very highly recommended! More
Unfortunately, I am updating my review of this establishment due to the severe decline in standards and experience.

My husband and I were celebrating a friends birthday and decided to return here for dinner as it had been so good on previous visits. I am... afraid, this is no longer the case.

The food was cold and pretty tasteless, the service was sporadic as we were left without drinks for several minutes. My husband ordered the deer, which was cold and unexpectedly tough. I plumped for the Ribeye burger which again was cold and flavourless. Our birthday guest had the reindeer, which he seemed happy with although his food was also cold.

The restaurant was not busy, but trying to get drinks service after the food was delivered proved to be a challenge. When presented with the bill, we had more items added to our bill which we did not consume, and when asking for the removal of said items, were met with a Paddington bear stare. Begrudgingly, the items were removed, but we were left feeling very upset that we were challenged for raising the matter.

All in all, we were very disappointed with the whole experience and the loss of, what had become, one of our favourite restaurants in Stockholm. More
I use to go frequently to this restaurant every time I am in Stockholm. It is one of my favourite: very good food and drinks. Excellent service and hospitality

We had dinner here this week.
We were in the Gamla Stan area looking for a good place for dinner. So, I checked Trip Advisor and this came up as a recommendation. We went in and sat at the bar which where we like to... sit.

The bartender was a great guy. His name is Ludvig and was a lot of fun to talk to.

I took Ludvig’s recommendation for dinner and ordered the Rydberg with Deer. It’s pieces of deer meat served with potatoes (chunky hash browns) and pearl onions. It comes with an egg yolk that you stir up and drizzle over the meat. I wasn’t sure about drizzling the egg yolk, but it was really good! I’d order this again.
My lovely wife had the Meatballs. It was a big serving but she managed it eat most of it. The meatballs were good but my recommendation is to order the Rydberg with Deer.

They had a good selection of local beers on tap and a full bar. They also have a Huge selection of whiskeys.

The deer meatballs. The 3-part sampler. Both super delicious. Lovely ambiance. And super nice and chatty waitstaff.
I am not a heavy whisky drinker, but you cannot avoid a taste here... on top of that, they have excellent food and beers. Interesting choice of game too.
In short it's an excellent choice for a great dinner out in Gamla Stan. Not a... tourist trap and definitely one of the best restaurants in the mid range price bucket. More
Really excellent restaurant that doesn't seem that at first. It serves a lot of game, which is just super. Big selection of beer and has big selection of hard liquor.
A little pricier than other restaurants but by far the best restaurant we came across in Gamla Stan. Food was excellent! Well worth the visit.
Looking for a bite to eat at lunch time and stumbled across this amazing bar / restaurant. The frontage is quite deceiving except for the quirky buck head mounted on a human dummy at the door.
Inside the place is pretty big. Restaurant at the... back. Very long bar full of Whiskey's toward the front 100's. Good beers too. We tried a beer from Visby which was very nice.
The food we ordered was also top notch along with very attentive service. would highly recommend a visit. More
Classical Swedish dishes like herring (in three variations) or differrent Swedis specialities on a plate, game Köttbullar and deer meat with ehgyolk and fried potato cubes. All was good, of course it comes at Swedish prices (10€ for less than a pint of beer).
I wanted to eat a Biff Rydberg and read that this was one of the best to serve that dish in Gamla Stan.

We had walked must of Old Town, all tourist tramps! Suddenly we saw ARDBEG’s menu and looked inside, it was a great feeling and our expectative to have a great late lunch saved!
Ambiance us great, not rush or pushy, very kind personnel, I believe... the owner is the bartender. Very knowledgeable of spirits & licor. Great selection of whiskies. We had the Deer & Elk in blueberry sauce just amazing!! More
