We celebrate the self-awareness, empathy, and wisdom of women in midlife.
Which of these looks is your favorite?
In addition to her graceful role within the royal family and her heartwarming devotion to humanitarian causes, Kate Middleton is also a full-time fashion icon.
The current Princess of Wales has brought us countless gorgeous looks to gawk at over the years, and 2022 was no exception. Here are our top five favorite pieces Kate Middleton rocked this year.
First on the list is a big one: Princess Diana’s stunning sapphire earrings. Over the years, there was plenty of speculation that Middleton had these specific earrings refashioned into two smaller sets and a pendant necklace. However, Middleton squashed these rumors by stepping out this June in a pair of earrings nearly identical to the ones favored by Diana.
In a fitting tribute to her late mother-in-law, Middleton styled the earrings with a chic white blazer similar to a style Diana also enjoyed. Take a closer look at Middleton’s gorgeous heirloom earrings , and possibly pick up some dupes for yourself.
Last January, Middleton showed everyone how to master winter fashion. During a special visit to Clitheroe Community Hospital in Lancashire, the princess stunned in a close-fitting brown turtleneck knit dress.
She paired the flattering piece with a long camel-colored wool coat. To top it off, Middleton chose some incredibly chic suede boots. We were so enamored with the look that we helped our readers hunt down Middleton’s outfit without breaking the bank.
This year also saw the rise of a new staple piece in Kate Middleton’s closet: The timeless pleated midi skirt. From leopard prints to bold red, Middleton proved that there’s no limit to how you can style this gorgeous piece.
Inspired by Middleton’s looks, we found some gorgeous dupes that we’ll definitely be taking into 2023. You can find out how we’re styling this Kate Middleton-approved staple .
Last spring, Kate Middleton brought out her boldest and brightest colors for her tour of the Caribbean. However, we were especially inspired by the princess’ expertly chosen footwear.
While her bold blue floral smock dress was the talk of royal fashion for weeks, we noticed that she paired the darling dress with some stunning wedge jute sandals. Then, after the heels certainly did a number on her feet while trekking through sand, she traded them out for some adorable crochet flats. You can read exactly how we mimicked her look for far less .
Finally, we found out that Middleton takes her style seriously at home, too. While baking cupcakes with her kids to celebrate the queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Middleton rocked the perfect ensemble.
For the festive occasion, Middleton paired high-waisted jeans with an adorable pink gingham top that featured a ruffle-trimmed Chelsea collar and exaggerated short puff sleeves. Feeling inspired, we hunted down all the ways you can incorporate gingham into your summer wardrobe.
Oh, to have a closet like Gwyneth’s.
Gwyneth Paltrow has one of the most enviable closets in Hollywood, and she recently highlighted some of the more memorable pieces in a video for her lifestyle brand, Goop. From red carpet accessories to the dress she wore when Brad Pitt proposed, Paltrow shared some of her most special fashion items.
In the video, Paltrow showed off the storage facility where she keeps all of her clothes and accessories. “I pull things from this closet every once in a while,” she explained. “It’s really, like, if I need something special, or things that I just love that I’m saving for myself if things come back in style or for Apple [her 18-year-old daughter].”
Some of the most notable looks came from the ’90s, when Paltrow was one of the biggest trendsetters in Hollywood. One dress she pulled out was a white Calvin Klein shirt dress.
“[It’s] very ’90s,” Paltrow said of the dress, which she wore to the 1996 premiere of The Pallbearer . “It’s slouchy, it’s relaxed. It’s giving that very ’90s ‘I don’t give a f*ck.’”
Paltrow also showed off some red carpet accessories, including the light pink Manolo Blahnik heels she wore to the 1999 Oscars ceremony. That year, Paltrow won the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in Shakespeare in Love .
Another ’90s item shown was a Christian Dior brown suede slip dress that she wore “when [she] had brown hair. A real look at the time,” Paltrow laughed. The actress also showed off a red Gucci suit from the 1996 MTV Movie Awards that she said she’s worn “many, many times.”
One of the items viewers loved seeing was the dress Paltrow said she was wearing when Pitt proposed to her. The pair was together from 1994 to 1997 and got engaged when she was 24 years old.
“We were in Italy,” Paltrow remembered as she looked at the floral, long-sleeve dress. “We climbed up to, like, a roof-deck thing and he surprised me!” She and Pitt eventually split, with Paltrow saying she was not ready to be married.
Fans of Paltrow’s ’90s fashion sense loved getting a closer look at some of the most memorable pieces from her extensive wardrobe. Who knows? Maybe we’ll see Apple rocking these pieces in the future!

We have investigated the structural, magnetic, and electrical transport properties of Pr 0.7 Sr 0.3 Mn (1−x) Co x O 3 nanopowders (x = 0, 0.05, 0.10 and 0.15). The Pechini Sol-gel method was used to synthesize these nanopowders. X-ray diffraction at room temperature shows that all the nano powders have an orthorhombic structure of Pnma space group crystallography. The average crystallite size of samples x = 0, 0.05, 0.10, and 0.15 are 33.78 nm, 29 nm, 33.61 nm, and 24.27 nm, respectively. Semi-quantitative chemical analysis by energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) confirms the expected stoichiometry of the sample. Magnetic measurements indicate that all samples show a ferromagnetic (FM) to paramagnetic (PM) transition with increasing temperature. The Curie temperature T C gradually decreases (300 K, 270 K, 250 K, and 235 K for x = 0, 0.05, 0.10, and 0.15, respectively) with increasing Co concentrations. The M-H curves for all compounds reveal the PM behavior at 300 K, while the FM behavior characterizes the magnetic hysteresis at low temperature (5 K). The electrical resistivity measurements show that all compounds exhibit metallic behavior at low temperature (T < T ρ ) well fitted by the relation ρ = ρ 0 + ρ 2 T 2 + ρ 4.5 T 4.5 and semiconductor behavior above Tρ (T > T ρ ), for which the electronic transport can be explained by the variable range hopping model and the adiabatic small polaron hopping model. All samples have significant magnetoresistance (MR) values, even at room temperature. This presented research provides an innovative and practical approach to develop materials in several technological areas, such as ultra-high density magnetic recording and magneto resistive sensors.
