Hi. There are two sides to the restaurant. One is more casual and the other is more upmarket. I would say that smart casual would be suitable for both restaurants.

My Red Hat Chapter attended Bentley Pines on the 1st Night they were open after the Christmas break in February. The new students coped admirably. Looking forward to seeing them again in November.
this is an amazing place to take friends and family, the service is always out standing for both food and drink and the price of $25 per person for a 3 course meal is absolutely amazing will always come back to this place

Special mention to Kai! He is a super star..speaking from someone who has been in a hotel environment for 20 years, I can immediately see this... young man has a huge potential

We had lamb cutlets, beef cheeks, and seafood marinara

Generous serving, great taste, quality, presentation can give any 5 star restaurant a run for their money.

The lamb was superb - tender n tasty

The beef cheeks could do with a bit more taste - however, it was very tender and properly stewed

The seafood marinara had a wonderful amount of seafood- mussels cooked to perfection. Huge amount and tasted sensational

Beverages
I had to order 2 Japanese slippers to get any benefit of the alcohol...that could probably be improved

Presentation and set up
For a bistro, it was acceptable

The service from the students was lovely, efficient and unobtrusive.
We were there on Asian night. Three items for entrée but one unavailable, that left pork or beef neither of which I eat so no entrée for me. The salmon main was lovely.
For sweets... a choice of cheesecake or chocolate mousse. The first four people at our table chose the cheesecake so the last two were told we had to have the mousse. It was only partially set and oversweet and repeated on me all night

I was very impressed with the food, the presentation, the service and the atmosphere. I value the experience of being looked after by well trained students. I had squid with chorizo;the chorizo dominated the plate still enjoyable. My main was ocean trout so tasty, my... only suggestion I would have liked crispy skin. The desert left me licking my lips with delight. The drinks were good value I had a cocktail. I am now looking forward to making another booking More
This is a training restaurant for students preparing to work in the hospitality industry. Diners are able to choose from a three course set menu, but each diner must choose a different meal to their partner.
All the staff (chefs and waiters) are students being... supervised by experienced teachers and the producing and serving the meal is an actual part of their coursework. On the job training.

Recently had dinner here after years. Still an excellent place to eat, taking in mind the minimal menu. Although everything is prepared by the students, all dishes came out looking and tasting of restaurant quality.

Only problem is getting a booking!
We are the regular customers of this wonderful Asian Training restaurant for the last 10 years, usually, at the dinner, only one Indian word can be express for our feeling every meal here अच्छा भोजन , that means Good food.

very good soup and entree, My Japanese friends love the sushi very much, as usual, the main course was very high standards, I like my Nasi Goreng , because I can taste the beef satay was good in quality with no trace of chemical tenderizer and no MSG or chicken powder MSG flavour in the rice, my son loves his deep-fried spatchcock so juicy and tender,my wife always told me after me ,this Asian training restaurant is the best place for dining, all their meats and cooking ingredients are so fresh and good in quality ,
I believed they had improved the Dessert this time with more variety to choose,
we all willing to continue to support these great training young chefs and bring our friends to dining here.
anyway, this only cost 25 dollars for the 3-course meal.

we organised a 3 course (including tea or coffee ) dinner for 30 @$30/diner in this modern beautiful restaurant. choose from 3 entree, 3 mains and desert from the trolley. Generous servings. Drinkable wines at additional cost. However, as this is a training restaurant, waiters... should know about the food on the menu and offer advice on the deserts as diners were not aware of the selection offered on the trolley. More
I do frequent the Restaurant at least 3 times a year. Always the quality of food & service has been excellent. But my last visit on the 14/9/18 the main meal Nasi Goreng & Spatch cock was no compliment to a Asian Meal. Satay was... dry, bit tough & no flavour. The meat should be marinated & cooked in charcoal fire or grill and served with the peanut sauce. Along with the fried rice some soya sauce with cut chillies should be served. to enhance the flavour. As it is stated in MasterChef more sauce(sambal sauce) & flavour. Vegetables should be cooked a little more with more flavour. Spatch cock had no flavour and rather dry. Service as such was not efficient, slow. I felt bad bringing new friends to try the food but it was a bad let down.

Had the asian lunch menu on friday. 4 of us tried one of everything on the menu Can't fault anything except the beef rendang needed a bit more cooking and a better cut of beef.It was a bit tough and fatty.Nice sauce though.
Loads of... trainee waiters standing around but that's ok. Had trouble checking out as the staff were also being trained. It's very cheap at $25 a head and the house wine is superb.
We've been before and will be going again. Thanks guys! More
This is the first time we have been to the Bentley pines restaurant and it wont be our last.
Its really great to see our future in training and the innocence of youth. The nervousness from the students makes it a great night. Bubbly students... like Taylah make the night special.
The food is first class as the guest chef was Todd from Petit Mort in subiaco.
a truly wonderful night and followed up by the best wines from xanadu in margaret river.
we will be back again soon. More
My husband, myself and several of our friends have eaten at this restaurant on several occasions (10 - 12 times) and have only been disappointed once. Generally this training restaurant is five star dining at best, taking out golden plate awards several times. This is... a hidden gem that not many people visit, that is hidden away in South Metropolitan TAFE Bentley Campus. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, has a bar that serves with meals, has lots of trainees eagerly waiting to serve you the fabulous meals you will encounter when you dine. Cannot recommend this one highly enough, do yourself a favour, book now and experience it, you will not be disappointed. PS it is open to the public. More
The Pines at Bentley TAFE is testament to the high teaching standards of the Catering Tutors at the college. The restaurant is staffed by catering students, whilst being carefully overseen by their tutors. Everybody is welcoming and friendly.
Check on their website for opening hours... but there is a set lunch with three options for each of the three courses which is attractively priced. Wines, aperitifs and liqueurs are all available at very sensible prices.
The food is prepared and served to perfection. One of our group had steak which was cooked to perfection and the knife went through it 'like butter'. As an attractive bonus, a student prepared prawns in garlic/onions alongside our table and they were cooked perfectly. The starters were delicious and the desserts were scrumptious.
The wait staff were very enthusiastic & attentive and afterwards the kitchen team of students visited our table for our comments, which of course were highly complimentary, with full justification!! A great meal, by tomorrow's chefs, wait-staff and sommeliers.
Top marks and congratulations to students & tutors alike. 100% recommended. More
This is a great concept - the students learn how to serve real customers and customers get to enjoy good service and good food at ridiculously low prices!
The food is always good and the students are very well supervised and really want to please... and do well. I have been for coffee and cake at the bistro (because I was too late for a lunch booking - they fill up very fast so best to book well in advance!)
I also recommend you wander around the corner to the bakery after you have finished lunch to buy some very cheap bakery products - again made by students as they are learning their craft. More
