8 out of 10 for a very expensive and high end TV for screen uniformity is shocking! I definitely wouldn’t consider it. Looks like my LG 65C9 OLED will still be my TV for the time being and how fine it is too and a lot cheaper than the EVO panel of the G2.

LG's latest Full HD OLED TV - the 55EC930V - delivers stellar pictures, passive 3D and a state-of-the-art smart system at an incredible price.
Nice review Phill. This is certainly on my radar for this year

however, I am here for me, and not for the company I work for

If it's better than the 65G1, then you guys are going to have to come up with a better scoring system

what are the current OLEDs like regarding burn compared to the earlier models?
"...Did he just throw my cat out the window...?"
"I just stuffed a guy into a meat freezer. Check that one off my bucket list."
"I can't believe I spent four hundred dollars to watch you drown a damn possum!"
"I always thought that opera was just fat people ****ing shouting."

I think the pink hue during snowy scenes when off center should really be added to the negatives for every tv it's noticeable on. In movies predominantly shot in the snow, that issue would drive me nuts. A large selling point of OLEDS is the viewing angles so off center flaws like this are a big negative.

If you're not happy with the scores you could try reading the actual review to get some context? The review is actually detailed and honest in the appraisal of the picture quality and uniformity. If it doesn't meet your required standards, that's fine, you don't have to buy one. And our reviews are a guide that you can choose to use, or not, when it comes to deciding if a product is for you. There is no such thing as a perfect TV so you need to decide what compromises you are happy to live with.

And the G1 was tested last year, things move on they don't stay static.

Demoing TVs is virtually impossible these days, just the same rubbish content on them that looks the same on every generation TV. In fact I think for example Samsung are making their demos purposely harder to judge how good their TVs are. Just a mixture colours for the demos for example. The consumer is more reliant on reviews than ever.

You seem unnecessarily angry towards Phil and his review? Bad Monday?

I don't know if the Samsung claim is true, but I get all the other points you make and to a certain extent, I agree. That's also why scoring in a review is the worst aspect and one I hate if I'm being honest. It's why I tend to push people to read the text or watch the video review, as that is where you will get the information that should give you an idea if the TV is for you or not. As I say, there is no such thing as the perfect TV or the perfect review scoring system, so I do try to be as detailed and honest as I can be with the information in the reviews. While the tint might not be a huge issue for me personally, I still mention it in detail and show it in the video review, because for someone like Gmoore23 it is a make or break item for him personally, it's why I still mention these and highlight them. You don't get that from a quick glance at the scores or pros and cons, so hopefully, people can see why I push them to read the actual review or watch the videos.
Cheers, podcast time...

”One thing that may be noticeable to some viewers is a slight pink or magenta tint to the edges of the panel and when off-axis this is even more noticeable.”

Probably the first time any review of a 65 inch OLED mentions this very common problem. Thanks for that. Maybe it should be added that the pink tint affects all ice sports (hockey, figure skating, skiing etc), and black and white content (the Hitchcocks..).

Not angry towards Phil and his review at all. I get on well with Phil and we have always discussed reviews together plus which TV he has now. Can I guess the G2 will be your next TV or one of your new TVs?

I wonder if the pink tint issue relates to the new Evo panels?
I have the E6, no hint there at all re tinting. When seeing snow scenes on the E6, it shows full screen of pure white.
I'm living with pink tint on my CX as i couldn't face returning it - I won't upgrade until im sure the screen will be uniform, not that you can ever be that sure
