Brenda Stone (born November 19, 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee - died November 21, 1996 in Memphis) is an American model and actress. Under the name Gail Stanton, she was Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for its June 1978 issue. Her centerfold was photographed by David Chan.

Brenda changed her name for Playboy because her father was a deacon at a local Southern Baptist church and she wanted to spare him any undue embarrassment. As Gail, she first posed for the magazine for the April 1977 pictorial "The Girls of the New South." She had a career as a computer programmer in addition to her modeling assignments, but she also had an active career with Playboy, both as a model and doing promotions. She did the same for Anheuser-Busch - she was "Miss Michelob Light" - and also did public relations work for the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville, Tennessee

Gail Stanton was an American Playboy model and actress. She was born on November 19, 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. She was chosen as Playboy's Playmate of the Month in June 1978. Gail was 23 when she became a Playmate.
Her centerfold was photographed by David Chan. She was originally photographed for a layout in the April 1977 issue entitled "Girls of the New South". Stanton died two days after her 42nd birthday, on November 21, 1996 of complications from a blockage to her colon.

Gail was Playmate of the Month for June 1978. Her pictorial was titled Southern Exposure .
Gail was born Brenda Gail Stone on Nov. 19, 1954, in Memphis, TN. She was a cheerleader and was homecoming queen in high school. The daughter of a Southern Baptist church deacon, she changed her name so as to not embarrass her family.
Gail first appeared in Playboy in the pictorial The Girls of the New South in April 1977. According to her Playmate of the Month pictorial, she was a computer programmer and part-time model.
According to “The Playmate Book: Five Decades of Centerfolds,” Gail did Playboy promotions for six years, was Miss Michelob Light for five years and was a special events coordinator for Seagram’s for five years. She also did publicity work for the Knoxville World’s Fair. She later became manager of player development for the ITT Sheraton Casino in Mississippi.
Her only film appearance was the comedy “Making the Grade” (1984), in which she played Dicette #2.
Gail reportedly dated Elvis Presley a couple of times as a young model in Memphis.
Gail died Nov. 21, 1996, in Memphis, TN, of a colon blockage, two days after her 42nd birthday.
