GSW Manager Preparing For First Game After Coach's Death

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who is preparing for the game for the first time after losing his coach he worked with, expressed his heavy heart.

Coach Kerr said in an interview with local media including AP after the training on the 23rd, "Everything that happened over the past five days was shocking, incredibly emotional, and most of all, it was heartbreaking."

The Golden State club experienced something terrible on the 17th local time.

Ahead of the away game with the Utah Jazz, coach Dejan Milowicz collapsed in a heart attack and was rushed to a hospital but died. He was only 46.

The shocked Golden State team later canceled games with Utah and the Dallas Mavericks and had time to get out of their sorrows, but the shock does not seem to go away easily.

"Losing someone is a part of life. Everyone has that kind of experience at some point. But it doesn't happen very often before my eyes. There are not many cases where young children are left behind, and there are not many cases where people who were loved around the world leave," Kerr said.

Golden State will return to the court through a home game against the Atlanta Hawks on the 25th. It is the first game since the death of coach Milo Beach.

Coach Kerr said the game will be "an incredibly emotional place for our players, our club, our fans, and the bereaved family of Deci (a nickname for coach Milo Beach)."

"We don't have any guidelines. We will focus on the game at the same time, paying tribute to Decki in the best way we can," he added.

Meanwhile, Coach Kerr showed quick response when the emergency occurred at the meeting, saying, "Everyone we faced on the day Decky fell down was unbelievable. Everything he showed us while taking care of Decky was the best," and thanked the medical staff at Utah University General Hospital.

Milowicz was born in Serbia and has played in European leagues. In 2001, he represented Montenegro in Serbia and contributed to the victory.

He began his leadership career in October 2012 when he was appointed as the coach of the Serbian club Mega Vizura. He coached the team until 2020, during which time Nikola Jokic and 11 other players were selected in the NBA draft.

He joined the Golden State coaching staff in June 2021 after serving as coach of the Montenegrin club Buduchnost in 2021. 메이저사이트
