GSMPROF Downloader Extension — Privacy Policy

GSMPROF Downloader Extension is a companion browser extension for the GSMPROF Downloader desktop application. The Extension helps you send download links and media URLs from web pages to the desktop app on your computer.

Summary • We do not sell your data. • We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. • Data is sent only to the GSMPROF Downloader app on your device (localhost). • Nothing is uploaded to GSMPROF cloud servers by the Extension itself.

Information the Extension may process When you start a download or capture (click, context menu, or approved detection), the Extension may read and forward: • Page URL and media/download URL • Referrer URL and page title (for correct file naming) • Suggested filename from the page or browser • User-Agent string (as sent by the browser) • Cookies for specific sites when required for a user-initiated download you requested (for example Google Drive)

This information is passed to the desktop app via native messaging, local HTTP, or local WebSocket on 127.0.0.1 only.

Information stored on your device • Extension settings (e.g. detection toggles) in browser storage. • Temporary session data (e.g. pending download context), cleared automatically. • Optional debug log if you enable debug mode in extension settings.

Permissions The Extension requests broad site access because users download from many different websites. It does not read passwords, banking data, or unrelated page content for transmission.

Children The Extension is not directed at children under 13.

Changes We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do.
