GIBcam v2023

Ein Jahr ist vergangen - das neue Hauptrelease steht in den Startlöchern ..

Mit GIBcam v2023 (Build 1200-1700) wird das neue Hauptrelease in den nächsten Tagen ausgerollt und wird wie gewohnt als ServicePack-Installationskit über den integrierten Update-Assistenten schrittweise für die unterschiedlichen GIBcam-Pakete und -Plattformen bereitgestellt. Für Anwender, die das neue Release parallel zur bisherigen Version installieren wollen, stehen dazu Full-Setup-Kit‘s zum individuellen Download in der GIBcam.Cloud bereit.

Die vollständige Aufwärtskompatibilität aller Daten aus GIBcam v2022 ist sichergestellt. Damit Daten aus GIBcam v2023 in Vorgängerversionen verarbeitet werden können, muss das letzte SP/SPA für GIBcam v2022 (Build B1190-1656) verwendet werden.

Da sich die laufenden Änderungen und Weiterentwicklungen der Funktionalität und des Datenformates auch auf GIBcam Systemdaten wie Werkzeuglisten (WZL), Initialisierungsdaten (GSD) und Postprozessordefinitionsdaten (GPP) u.a.m. auswirken, wird dringend empfohlen, für diese Daten ein separates Backup anzulegen.

Anwender, die Maschinensystemdaten (Ausbaustufe I: Spindelkopf bzw. Ausbaustufe II: integrierte virtuelle Maschine) bereits auf das mit GIBcam v2022 veröffentlichte neue Format aktualisiert haben, können diese Daten nahtlos verwenden. Ältere Daten müssen aktualisiert werden!

Parallel zu dem Update auf GIBcam v2023 steht auch das angekündigte Cross-Upgrade auf GIBcam-CNC zur Verfügung. Dieses Cross-Upgrade ist für Anwender konzipiert, die bisher noch den alten GIBcam-VIEW'er im Fertigungsumfeld einsetzen.

Mit dem neuen GIBcam-Release steht für alle Anwender mit einer INTERFACE Lizenz zum Direktdatenimport von 3D-CAD-Daten (CATIA, NX, CREO, SW, SE, …) ein separates INTERFACE-ServicePack (Build 1200i) bereit. Dieses enthält zusätzlich alle notwendigen Lizenzaktualisierungen für auslaufende Jahreslizenzen. Für Anwender, die eine Netzwerk-Floating-Lizenzierung für ihre INTERFACE-Datenschnittstelle nutzen, gelten die zusätzlichen Hinweise.

A year has passed - the new main release is in the starting blocks ...

With GIBcam v2023 (Build 1200-1700), the new main release will be rolled out in the next few days and will be made available as usual as a ServicePack installation kit via the integrated update wizard step by step for the different GIBcam packages and platforms. For users who want to install the new release in parallel to the previous version, full setup kits are available for individual download in the GIBcam.Cloud.

The complete upward compatibility of all data from GIBcam v2022 is ensured. In order to process data from GIBcam v2023 in previous versions, the latest SP/SPA for GIBcam v2022 (Build B1190-1656) must be used.

As the ongoing changes and further developments of the functionality and data format also affect GIBcam system data such as tool lists (WZL), initialisation data (GSD) and post-processor definition data (GPP) etc., it is strongly recommended to create a separate backup for this data.

Users who have already updated machine system data (expansion package I: spindle head or expansion package II: integrated virtual machine) to the new format published with GIBcam v2022 can use this data seamlessly. Older data must be updated!

Parallel to the update to GIBcam v2023, the announced cross-upgrade to GIBcam-CNC is also available. This cross upgrade is designed for all customers who still use the old GIBcam-VIEW in the production environment.

Further technical and content-related details about the update will be compiled and published in separate information.

With the new GIBcam release, a separate INTERFACE ServicePack (Build 1200i) is available for all users with an INTERFACE licence for direct data import of 3D CAD data (CATIA, NX, CREO, SW, SE, ...). This also contains all necessary licence updates for expiring annual licences. For users who use network floating licensing for their INTERFACE data interface, the additional notes apply.
