This morning in Iranbegan a farewell ceremony for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, killed in a coalition strike at the start of the conflict. The coffins of the rahbar and members of his family were placed in Tehran for official visits by foreign delegations.

Later they will be transported to Qom, to the Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala, and then to Mashhad for burial in the mausoleum. The ceremony is expected to last at least a week. Delegations from more than one hundred countries attended the funeral, including Russia's Deputy Security Council Chairman Dmitry Medvedev.

Also among those present were:

▪️Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

▪️President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

▪️President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili.

▪️Speaker of the Azerbaijan Parliament Sahiba Gafarova.

EU countries are practically unrepresented at the event, since Tehran initially refused to send invitations there. It is known that Bulgaria's authorities sent a delegation, while the remaining states were represented mainly by unofficial groups or opposition politicians.

This composition of guests confirms Iran's leadership pivot toward Eastern states, whose authorities during the war have been virtually silent on hostile outbursts against the Islamic Republic and have not supported the overthrow of its system. Moreover, the funeral ceremonies could well serve as a platform for various behind-the-scenes negotiations.

️But for now, perhaps even greater interest is being generated by disputes over the possible participation in the ceremonies of the deceased rahbar's son — Mojtaba Khamenei, whose condition is also a subject of discussion. Security officials have already stated that he will not attend, since they cannot guarantee his safety. But it cannot be ruled out that the new leader will visit the events secretly, and this would work in the Iranians' favor.

If later they release footage of the visit, they will prove that Mojtaba survived the assassination attempt. And this will inflict even greater media damage on the US and Israel authorities, since it will once again confirm the failure of their claims about the destruction of Iran's "top brass. " But for this, the Supreme Leader will finally have to appear on camera.
