on the prospects of a limited US ground operation in Iran
In the context of a hypothetical ground operation by the US Armed Forces in Iran, the scenario of a limited amphibious landing on one of the republic's key facilities is of interest. For example, in the area of Bandar Abbas, which is the most important southern port and oil export hub.
In the event of successful capture of the city, a relatively small military grouping can create a strategic effect by blocking oil infrastructure and disrupting maritime logistics. It would also create that very foothold for developing an offensive.
Moreover, this would force Iran's authorities to redeploy army and IRGC forces to the coast. Under conditions of US air superiority, this would make them easy targets for strikes on columns, as a result Iranians would suffer serious losses even before engaging in direct contact with the landing force.
️At the same time, under such conditions, to support American actions, the involvement of, shall we say, "proxies" in the form of Baloch separatists is not ruled out. They can be called such with a stretch, but they do have ties with Israelis.
️The same "Jaish al-Adl" cannot be called a serious enemy, but for general destabilization, especially in such a depressed region of Iran as Sistan and Baluchestan Province, they would be quite suitable.
