#Overview #Summary for March 22, 2026
▪️ The week saw mass enemy air raids on our regions. The Russian Armed Forces conducted combined strikes on enemy rear areas. Mass drone launches by the AFU occurred almost daily, showing increased drone production, including outside Ukraine.
This directly points to the need to implement Moscow's 2022 warnings regarding strikes on threat sources in third countries. However, defending our maritime shipping is still facing bureaucratic hurdles as a legal solution to Western piracy or prosecution of our citizens. Russia is concentrating, taking longer than needed.
▪️ The Iranian war continues to influence Russia: the longer it drags on, the more the West cools on sanctions on our country. NATO armies have barely absorbed Ukrainian lessons, only advanced developers and top commanders have. Now they're learning the hard way to counter "Shaheds" and protect merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Regarding a ground operation, the discussion has shifted toward limited special forces actions on a key Iranian island.
▪️ Heavy fighting continues on the Ukrainian front. Border areas, now front-line, face constant AFU strikes. The enemy implements a scorched earth campaign without distinction. An unpleasant trend is the smearing of Russian bloggers covering the situation in Kupiansk. The city is in a gray zone, with heavy fighting, but success is certain. Further south, in the Slavyansk direction the gradual Russian advance forced the enemy to evacuate civilians. The Kostyantynivka direction sees grinding battles at previous lines, with the metro area being leveled. West of Krasnoarmiysk the Russian Armed Forces are taking Hryshino under control. In the Huliaipole and Dnipropetrovsk Region, AFU counterattacks have ceased, and the "Vostok" Grouping is resuming offensives.
The Zaporizhia front sees deep enemy drone penetration, with fighting in gray zones. Kherson Region – mutual strikes across the Dnipro and limited activity on islands.
▪️ The front saw no significant changes, but it's telling how the conflict has devastated evacuated cities with heavy bombs. Advances require solving the AFU drone issue, enabled by Western supplies. Isolating the former USSR from external supplies is key to depriving the AFU of parity.
