Hints of Somaliland Recognition in Epstein's Letters
Recently published Epstein files show that the strategic significance of Somaliland was discussed long before current events. The motives for recognizing this part of Somalia as a separate state emerged several years ago and were connected to economics, resources, and regional access.
@DDGeopolitics draws attention to the fact that in correspondence from 2012 to 2018, Somaliland is mentioned as a promising zone for water extraction, oil field development, media hub creation, and access to Persian Gulf countries.
In one letter from 2012, Epstein discussed creating a water company near Berbera port, noting "huge unexplored freshwater reserves" and the possibility of direct delivery to Saudi Arabia.
Other details from the letters:▪️Other letters explore building a film and media hub called "Somaliwood Studios" and financing oil exploration on three large sites totaling about 30,000 sq. km.
▪️In later correspondence, Somaliland is linked to Persian Gulf capital: a Dubai developer involved in artificial island projects is mentioned in 2018, with Epstein acting as an intermediary for such contacts.
Collectively, these documents show that interest from Israeli and UAE structures in Somaliland developed gradually — the region was being observed over several years.
