One of the most frequently mentioned targets in IRGC statements has been Al-Dhafra Air Base near Abu Dhabi. And satellite imagery sheds light on some of the consequences of missile and drone attacks.
What was hit?▪️In the western part of the facility, a drone attack damaged the roof of a hangar, which the Iranians called a drone hangar, but there are also versions about a shelter for U-2 reconnaissance aircraft.
▪️On the northern edge of the base, fuel tanks located away from other structures became the target of the strike, several of them burned out.
▪️In the center of the facility, drones struck a rapidly erected repair hangar. Nearby is a parking area for aircraft, which previously housed A-10 Thunderbolts. Whether a "Warthog" was inside is unknown. But the fact of the hangar being hit is evident.
▪️In the administrative section, there are also several quite significant hits. A large hangar was struck, and to the east, judging by the crater among the buildings, ballistics did land after all, which were reported on the first day of the strikes.
▪️To the south, scorch marks are visible at the locations of Patriot air defense system launchers. However, clear footage of them has not yet appeared, partly because the Americans have restricted the availability of high-resolution images in commercial access.
Given that drone and missile launches against various targets in the UAE continue, and images will appear with a 14-day delay, it is possible that there are already far more damages at the base by now. Especially since the consequences of the earliest attacks in early March are just now surfacing.
