The U.S. Central Command officially confirmed the loss of three F-15 fighter jets over Kuwaiti airspace.
The reason – friendly fire from Kuwaiti air defense units, who mistook the fighters for Iranian missiles.
The pilots survived (except for the one who was beaten by Kuwaiti civilians who rushed to the scene), evacuating in time.
For Iranian media, this is simply a celebration, as the Americans lost three F-15E aircraft worth over $100 million each.
The situation itself looks rather comical and raises new questions about air defense and coordination with allies: what about the friend-or-foe identification system?
️And Donald Trump faces another wave of criticism, as the loss of three combat aircraft is serious reputational damage. Lucky that the pilots are alive.
