Fwb Nsa Difference
Have you ever wondered the difference between friends with benefits(FWB) and no strings attached(NSA) kind of relationships ? These are some of the most common terms used in the dating world today. And they serve as an indication of how greatly dating has evolved.
According to the dating experts the main difference comes from the titles and not in the whole concept. Both FWB and NSA revolve around casual hookups for sexual and other pseudo relationship benefits except emotional intimacy.
However, when we come to the title concept, we find that FWB are in the first place friends who later gets to be sexually attracted to each other and they end up shagging for fun. On the other hand NSA partners can be complete strangers who just hookup for a one night stand. And most importantly, it just ends there.
From movies and romantic books, we have often seen how FWB starts; it is born out of a platonic kind of friendship and grows into a sexually adventurous type of friendship. Many are times these relationships end with heartbreaks or develop into a romantic relationship. It is commonly said that you cannot have your cake and still eat it.
First, FWB can only be between friends while NSA can be either be between strangers or even friends. Chances for NSA developing into a real relationship are lower compared to those of FWB. This is because as friends, chances are both partners would want to pursue their friendship. And since they have been intimate with each other, then, romance can easily find its way in.
In NSA personal information is usually scanty since no one really cares much about things such as each other's likes and dislikes. In NSA fun , one can even lie about their names since it can be a onetime hookup therefore with such anonymity emotions are kept at bay.
Both rely on some physical attraction but this is more evident in a NSA kind of hookup. This is due to the fact that friendships arent exclusively sparked by physical attractions and therefore cannot be said to take precedent in a FWB type of relationship.
In terms of risks such as heartbreaks and bad ramifications, FWB poses a higher risk. When friendships dies, ramifications such as hatred and defamation may occur mostly when the hurting partner is trying to get back at the other. This is often not the case in NSA; the chances of such ugly breakups are lower as no friendship ties are at stake here.
In FWB everything is handled from a friend point of view. And therefore, a bit of caring for each other is seen in this type of relationship as opposed to NSA. Both partners are cautious toward issues such as unwanted pregnancies and STIs among other sex related mishaps.
Both forms of relationships are fun and getting more popular by the day, however both partners need to be made aware of what they are getting into early enough.

NSA Vs. FWB - Which One Is Better for You?
If you've ever ventured into the world of online dating you've likely come across certain terms that you don't see every day. From ghosting to catfishing to submarining, there are countless terms thrown around on online dating sites and apps that have a completely different meanings, which can make navigating the digital dating sphere that bit more challenging.
The terms you find differ on every site and app, with the user demographic usually influencing what dating terms you see. For instance, sites that focus on romance and relationships tend to have dating terms that differ greatly from those found in hook-up sites.
Two terms that you commonly see in casual dating sites and apps are NSA and FWB. These terms are often used interchangeably but there are some distance differences between each one. Let's take a closer look at NSA vs FWB.
NSA stands for no strings attached . This means that people are interested or currently involved in a no strings attached relationship, which is basically when there is nothing more than sex. It's all about the physical aspect of the relationship rather than anything emotional, with the no strings being the fact there is no emotional attachments formed.
The term has been widely used in dating culture in the past few decades, although the concept of no strings attached sex is far from new. If you happen to have a purely sexual relationship with someone then it is considered an NSA relationship.
This might be someone you casually hook up with from time to time or a one-night stand were you never took things further - it was and is only ever about the sex. In the context of online dating, when someone is looking for NSA it means that they are only interested in sex and don't want to start dating or get serious, just have some no strings fun with a likeminded person.
FWB stands for friends with benefits . This is a type of relationship between two friends that happen to have sex with each other. They can be lifelong friends or newly minted acquaintances, with the main idea being that you have a friendship and occasionally have sex.
It's less common to find someone looking for friends with benefits on an online dating environment because most FWB start with someone you already know. People on dating sites aren't usually looking for friendship with some occasional sex thrown in, with anyone seeking casual sex often using the term NSA rather than FWB.
That's not to say you don't come across people in online dating that want FWB type relationships - some people are looking for friendship and sex without any of the baggage that comes with it!
There are some obvious similarities between NSA and FWB relationships, such as it mostly focusing on having sex without exclusively dating each other. You could also technically consider an FWB to be NSA, as friends with benefits are having no strings attached sex.
However, there are some subtle differences to each one, which we've outlined below:
As the name suggests, friends with benefits involve having a sexual relationship with a friend. It can be someone you've known all your life, a few years, or just recently met - as long as you have a friendship prior to having sex it can be considered FWB.
NSA on the other hand, doesn't need to happen with a friend. Yes, you can have NSA sex with a friend but if this happens more than once you're more FWB than anything else. NSA can happen with virtually anyone, whether it's a random hook-up you met at a club or someone you met on Tinder.
You don't need to have known each other that well before - or even after - you have sex.
No strings attached sex is about one thing - having sex without any emotional baggage. You simply meet up and have sex whenever you both want to and then part ways afterwards.
Because friends with benefits involves a friend, you already have a friendship so have more to do than simply have sex. You can hang out, watch movies, go on nights out with other friends - basically it's like any other friendship but with the added benefit of sex.
With NSA, you aren't really friends so there isn't much to more to it than having sex. With FWB, friendship comes first and the sex is just a nice added bonus.
NSA are typically short lived. The more often you have sex and spend time with each other, the more chance there is of emotional attachment development, with most no strings attached arrangements ending after a few weeks or months or developing into a full-blown relationship.
FWB can last for any number of years, often being on and off again type agreements. Because you are already friends you normally go back to being just that once you stop having sex, although sometimes people struggle to handle this after getting too attached.
In most cases, FWB will happen when you are both single, so may be on and off for many years. NSA rarely last longer than a month or so - anything longer and you're probably getting attached to each other!

No strings attached and friends with benefits. These are two very different terms in the online dating world, but they are often used interchangeably. Sometimes they can mean the same thing, but they can also be two very different things.
It's important to understand the differences. When you're looking online for one or the other, or even both, then you'll need to understand everything that others will be writing online.
You'll sometimes see them written as NSA and FWB. Here's a look at the two words and their substantial differences.
Let's start with NSA dating. "No strings attached" means just as it sounds. You date with absolutely no strings attached. There are no long-term commitments and you don't have to deal with the emotional aspects of the dating world.
The idea is that you enjoy the fun parts of the relationships and none of the downsides. If you get bored, you can move onto another relationship. There's no need to feel guilty that you don't want to be with the person anymore.
Of course, this works the other way. If the other person wants to move on, they are perfectly in their right to do that.
One of the greatest benefits of NSA dating, you can have multiple partners on the go. You don't have the commitment talk, so you can enjoy a sexual relationship with other people.
But doesn't this sound like friends with benefit dating? Sort of, but there are some substantial differences.
When it comes to FWB, the clue is in the name. In many cases, you're friends first and you have sexual benefits that come from it.
There is an element of NSA dating. After all, you have the no strings attached in the form of commitment and long-term dating. However, the big difference is that there is the friend relationship on the outside of the sexual relationship.
In most cases, a FWB relationship starts with the friendship first. You can find someone you know and trust, set up rules, and just have a little fun in the bedroom. This does blur the lines and can make things difficult when it comes to other relationships, especially sexual ones, but it's important to separate the friends with the benefits.
There are times that you will start the benefits relationship first and it becomes a friendship afterward. However, this isn't the original intention.
There are times that the two terms link together. This is often due to the way a FWB relationship can start as NSA dating. You initially start the relationship with the intention of just having the sexual relationship, but the lines start to blur. You realize that you like hanging out too, and this soon becomes the friends with benefits relationship.
It doesn't often work the other way around, although it can in some cases. A FWB relationship usually remains that way. However, there is the chance that one of you calls it a NSA relationship. You and your friend may view it as a no strings attached relationship, because you want to avoid blurring too many lines.
You can find both online if you'd like. However, you're ore likely to find the NSA relationship through online dating sites. This is simply because you'll find a stranger rather than a friend.
One of the biggest similarities between the two relationships is the need for rules. The FWB relationship requires a few extra rules when you want to keep that friend relationship. After all, there is the need to preserve the friendship while enjoying the benefits. With an NSA relationship, it's much easier to walk away without any connection.
However, it is important to set up some ground rules when it comes to feelings. The emotions will grow as you add sexual intimacy. You need to decide how you're going to deal with that. It's important to decide when you or the other person pulls out of the relationship due to the growing feelings.
When you start dating online, you need to make a decision about what you want to gain. Would you like a friendship first and move into the benefits side of things? How about just enjoying some no strings attached dating? By understanding the differences between the terms, you'll find it much easier to get what you want on the online dating sites.

Differences between NSA, FWB and spoiled girlfriend?
A forum where SDs and SBs discuss the sugar lifestyle, share experiences, and learn from one another

I was reading this thread , and realized that I do not know what being a spoiled girlfriend entails, and that I have no idea what the differences are between NSA and FWB.
NSA - No strings attached. Can apply to almost any casual sex, it simply means there is not connection/obligation after sex. A one night stand can be NSA, as can a FWB. It stops being NSA when one or both parties have expectations about how the other behaves (e.g. exclusivity, availability, willingness to take them out to dinner, etc.)
FWB - friends with benefits. Implies that 1) you're friends and know the person, and 2) there are benefits, namely sex. The only implied relationship is being friends, and you're explicitly not boyfriend/girlfriend. Notice no money, presents, etc is typically involved. Someone you hook up with that you trust, but that's about it. (Some describe FWB as "sex with breakfast" but that's about the limit before it's something more.)
Spoiled girlfriend -- there's an actual relationship, and there are strings, making it more like a boyfriend/girlfriend thing than a pure sugar relationship. In this case, the couple actually likes each other, but part of the attraction is the spoiling -- that the girlfriend is getting copious gifts or financial support from the boyfriend. There are definitely expectations on both sides, and this isn't a NSA relationship.
In the context of sugar, I'd say that an early SD/SB relationship, especially if it's pay per visit, is pretty much NSA. Once it moves to a monthly allowance, it's less NSA, because realistically both sides have strings -- expecting the other to follow through on the commitment from the allowance -- but it's still pretty NSA. Once you're to the point that you expect the SB or SD to be with you on Christmas and New Years, to not see other people, etc, I'd say you're outside of the NSA realm and moving into more traditional relationship territory. This is where "spoiled girlfriend" comes into play. This is where you start getting into the area where trophy wives happen as well.
Sugar Babies make explicit arrangements with SDs. "I will see you 4 times per month for 2k/month". There are extras that can be negotiated for, or can just be unexpected surprises within an arrangement. Like traveling or shopping. You are what I like to call "shallow dating". Maybe you use fake names, you're not meeting each others' friends, you don't have any expectation of a future together.
Spoiled girlfriends are basically traditional dating where the man/benefactor pays for everything above and beyond picking up the check for dinner on a special occasion. You are actually dating - no x times per month for y allowance. You know each other's real information. You meet the friends and family, etc. You have a reasonable expectation that you could get married, etc.
NSA is "No Strings Attached". Meaning you are in some sort of physical/romantic relationship with someone, but you are not expected to be exclusive, and there is no expectation of a future. This could be a vanilla relationship with no financial aspect or it could be a sugar relationship. SBs are inherently NSA, spoiled girlfriends CAN be NSA (though I think that blurs the SB/S. GF line), and FWB are inherently NSA (though likely to change in real life).
FWB is "Friends with Benefits". Meaning you are FRIENDS. Like legit you have a friendship with this person and decided to start screwing. To me this is not a hookup that you meet at a bar or online and then have sex with on a regular basis (I consider that a fuck buddy). FWB is you have a platonic relationship that morphs into a physical one. No/little expectation of exclusivity, no expectation of a future. But it is likely that it could morph into a standard issue vanilla relationship (or a spoiled girlfriend).
