Holy shit. This movie is possibly one of the darkest porn films I’ve seen yet. The story follows a woman who is in the hospital after attempting suicide. When the doctor asks her why she tried committing suicide, we go into a series of flashbacks that show the events leading up to the present. The trouble began when she lost her job and participated in a one-night stand to make herself feel better. But when the woman woke up, she found money on her nightstand, this leads her down a dark path of prostitution which she endures to support her young daughter.

Immensely downbeat, sex-negative, almost deliberately un-erotic early French porno from Jess Franco affiliate Alain Payet. Corinne Lemoine stars as Marie-Madeleine, a single mother who is fired from her job as a lingerie sales clerk after she refuses the advances of her boss' loathsome friend. With a former customer as her guide, she becomes a sex worker and solicits johns hanging out at a seedy disco club where much of the rest of the film takes place.
Lemoine is very good in the film, imbuing what could have been a one-dimensional tragic character with a lot of interiority. Each of her sex scenes feel grubbier than the last, a new trial in degradation. There's a sequence straight out of a roughie,…

A young woman loses her job and finds money on the nightstand after a one nighter which is her introduction into prostitution. This hardcore effort from France is a real head turner. This one could best be boiled down as a roughie, but it’s far more complicated than that. It’s a hardcore picture where none of the sex is really presented as sexy, challenging the viewer to keep with it as the character study melodrama keeps ramping up and getting more extreme. So as a porn it may not be a total success to some looking for a wank, but it’s a hell of a picture if you’re looking for a sleazy drama.

FURIES SEXUELLES tells of Marie-Madeleine (Corinne Lemoine) who more or less accidentally falls into prostitution after a disastrous encounter at work leaves her unemployed. The movie chronicles the ups and downs of this life and the characters she encounters within it. The pros and cons are put forth, but it's clear that Marie-Madeleine has her owns demons she wrestles with in addition to the struggles of getting by as a sex worker in a society that both needs you and shuns you. For this viewer, FURIES SEXUELLES was an interesting drama, where I wanted to see what happened next to the main character. Her struggles and what was actually real made this one worth watching.
