All of our Vintage Ales are very special bottle conditioned beers. We’ve created a new recipe every year since 1997, picking the best ingredients at the time, to make a strong beer with a complex character
Now on its 25th edition, 2021 is a landmark year for Vintage Ale. At its heart, Pale Ale and Caragold malts combine with DRC®(Double Roasted Crystal), to deliver a toffee and raisin sweetness. Turning to hops, we're showcasing younger UK varieties for their luscious fruitiness. Endeavour brings plummy tones, while Olicana® and the yet unnamed experimental hop CF182 add tropical and orange notes. All complemented, as ever, by the zesty marmalade character of our famous Fuller's yeast.

Got this beer as a xmas presant , which i did not want as i dont drink fullers beer much , so bit cheap for a gift which i did not want or will I ever drink it , so its just going to do to waste
I think this beer is up to the typical expectations for a fresh fullers vintage ale. Rich malty caramel flavours, light carbonation and amazing smooth for the abv. Zesty citrusy flavours from the hops and yeast. Fantastic beer and an annual release to look forward to.
Anyone comparing this beer to anything by Innis and Gun is misinformed by their knowledge of beer production or palate.
Anyone looking for cognac, sherry and raisin flavours in a fresh beer of this kind should not have any influence on whether you buy this beer or not.
Well done Fullers for continuing to produce a quality product (even though you got bought out).
I am a huge fan of belgian style ales, abbey ales, trappist and cask brewed ales, big, bold, deep flavours. But I also love German witbier, as well as a hearty stout or porter.
I like to think I have a wide pallete and taste for quality flavours. I had never tried Fullers but was looking to give it a chance for NYE. Based on the packaging, marketing and price point, I expected it to blow my mind or at the very least have a rich luxurious taste similar to the first time I tried Leffe Blonde or Innis & Gunn's Highland Cask.
But this was disappointing and fell far below the drinkability and experience of many other cheaper better ales. You get a decent malty flavour but it's shallow and has little depth followed by a slight bitterness that disappates quickly.
It's a bland overpriced and forgettable experience. All flash no substance and truly disappointing.
Fullers Vintage Ale 2021 the new Vintage beautifully boxed and presented as always, with promises to delight, but it is the taste that counts and I've tasted 2 bottles waiting a month between each before succumbing to this review.
This year it seems Fullers have followed the previous 2 years, 2019 & 2020, with a Citrus theme and it has followed this path since the former Head Brewer passed the reins to a ''Younger'' chief, over 3 years ago.
There is a light sweetness which gives way to an intense bitter lemon/orange zest flavour that then becomes almost bitter grapefruit with a sour hoppy finish. Remember, this a Vintage Ale not a fruit juice concoction. Don't look for any cognac/caramel/sherry soaked raisin flavours they are just not there, despite the box label taste notes.

Just received the bottle of your 2021 vintage I ordered and, as usual after the past few years or, so, this will be 'held hostage in my cupboard until this time next year! This means that the 2020 Vintage bottle can now 'released' for consuming on Christmas Day - by Me!
HOWEVER, another of my many quirks, is that I collect all the labels from my 'tastings' for my collection and was greatly disappointed to note, that on the 2021 Vintage (your 25th Anniversary), the label does not show the silver colour label as shown on your websi
