HyperCool v1.7 — Full Changelog

NEW FEATURES

• Disable apps

- Pick any app to disable, including system apps (same picker as Protected / Blocked apps).

- Warning shown in the card: do not disable apps carelessly.

- Critical packages are always skipped: core Android, phone/telephony, IMS, network, providers, overlays, permission controller, WebView, Google services (GMS/GSF), MIUI security, default apps (launcher, keyboard, dialer, SMS) and root managers (KernelSU, KSU Next, SukiSU, Magisk, APatch, KSU WebUI, MMRL).

- Turning the feature off enables all disabled apps again.

• Adaptive screen-off power profile (opt-in keeper)

- While the screen is off: big-core max frequency lowered (default 60%), GPU limited to its lowest level, WALT sched_boost / pl and FPSGO off, optional touch boost off.

- When the screen turns on: every original value is restored.

- Screen detected via the backlight (fallback: dumpsys power). Light keeper: checks every 2–3 s at lowest priority.

- Connectivity and important apps are not touched. Values are restored on disable/uninstall.

- Qualcomm (kgsl) and MediaTek (Mali) supported.

• GPU frequency cap (replaces GPU peak level cap)

- Reads the GPU frequency table supported by each device (Qualcomm kgsl / MediaTek Mali devfreq).

- Choose steps below max or a specific MHz; never goes below the middle of the table.

- "Lock the cap so the ROM cannot raise it" toggle (same as Big-core frequency cap).

- Default OFF.

• Keep Energy Aware Scheduler on

- Makes sure EAS stays on when a ROM/kernel switches it off. Default ON.

• Balanced system defaults (default ON)

- Undoes performance tweaks left behind by other tools: no top-app scheduler boost, normal storage read-ahead (128) and queue depth (64), Oppo/OnePlus touch panel out of game mode.

- Qualcomm: CPU bus, DRAM, LLCC and L3 get their full dynamic range again (no forced high floor).

- MediaTek: PPM power/thermal policies, GPU power limiter, battery over-current limiter and EARA thermal back on, FPSGO automatic, normal CPU power/CCI mode, no DRAM boost, GPU and DRAM frequencies unlocked.

- CPU and GPU limits are left to Big-core / GPU frequency cap.

• Common kernel & network tuning (default ON)

- Child tasks run first, no scheduler autogroup, schedstats and Oppo cpustats off.

- No swap read-ahead, no proactive compaction, vmstat every 15 s (unless VM writeback tuning is on).

- No I/O accounting or entropy sampling.

- Best available TCP congestion control (BBR family, Westwood or CUBIC) with SACK, TCP Fast Open, ECN only when the server asks for it, no timestamps.

- OnePlus/Oppo scheduler helpers off.

HOME

• Idle drain (replaces CPU temp)

- Battery drain while the screen is off: % per hour, total hours and total % drained.

- Read from Android's battery statistics; no need to charge to 100% first.

- Short explanation shown above Last boot.

• Run battery check

- Opens a pop-up with: battery health, capacity health %, full and design capacity (mAh), cycle count, level, charge left, temperature, voltage, current and technology.

- "Run again" and "Close" buttons.

IMPROVEMENTS

• Background apps on little cores: new sub-option to also move logging/diagnostic daemons and light HALs to the background CPU group.

• Calmer CPU governor: new sub-option raises WALT task boost / colocation thresholds to 80 / 65 (Qualcomm), so fewer small tasks are pushed onto big cores.

• Disable analytics & ad packages: now only disables a fixed analytics/ad list (Disable apps handles the rest).

• Auto clean cache: times now shown in 24-hour format.

• Max battery preset now includes Adaptive screen-off power profile, Balanced system defaults and Common kernel & network tuning. Cool gaming preset includes Balanced system defaults and Common kernel & network tuning.

• Module description and About text updated: for all ROMs, focused on battery life, not peak performance.

FIXES

• Screen-off keeper: no double keeper after a quick restart (old keeper is stopped first).

• Idle drain: works on Android 16 battery statistics and shows a value even with very little screen-off time.
