The SEHS-S wellness model includes core social and emotional skills, such as empathy and emotional competence, and psychological dispositions, such as gratitude and persistence. The hypothesis is that internal assets exert their primary effects by fostering an upward positive developmental spiral in the quality of youths interpersonal transactions.
The SEHS-S (2015) has been used in scores of research projects and by schools in 13 U.S. states to support universal monitoring of students' complete mental wellness. Hence, the SEHS-S (2015) can be used with confidence for research and applied program continuity purposes.
