Heard alot about this sleazy giallo film forever. Nice that Code Red put out a good looking Blu-ray. But the disc seriously lacks extras. Some decent trailers but nothing else. Not even subtitles.
The slo-mo stabbing sequence on the beach is pretty unique.
No matter what you think of the film.... it certainly has a great poster.

and the tagline on the US poster - "ONE DAY YOU’LL GET CLOSER TO THE VIOLENCE OF DEATH… BUT THIS IS AS FAR AS WE DARE TAKE YOU… WITH ANY HOPE OF BRINGING YOU BACK!
Um... that's the most insane tagline ever.
Total genre filth. Perverse with loads of nudity, sex maniac craziness, and notable bonkers dialogue—detective: ‘that was before he found out his wife was a whore’—also detective: ‘how do we find all the impotent men in town, advertise?’— guy staring at his naked gf: ‘being naked does wonders for you, but I bet you hear that all the time’.
This opens with a naked woman’s corpse laying bloody on a bed in what looks like the black lodge from Twin Peaks, then it cuts to detectives having rounded up all the pimps and hookers for interrogation and a salty walker of the night yells at the detective saying she’s ‘homosexual not homicidal’. Pretty much your standard sleazy ass giallo and I love me some sleazy ass giallo. Housewives out here getting murdered. Red herrings and sex maniacs. Good times.
There are plenty of recognizable faces for Italian horror and giallo lovers. Poor Femi Benussi is always getting killed off even though she has a certain final girl quality to her. Oh well.
“I’m homosexual, not homicidal!!” is now a thing I want to randomly scream at someone.
A standard sleazy giallo with more misogyny and homophobia than usual
Very true to itself Giallo entry complete with J&B, killer in all black, spooky synth track... One of those fairly simple and cheap mysteries though where the killer isn't revealed until the end and then everything is quickly explained in five minutes and really everything you just watched didn't matter because the killer wasn't any of the characters introduced, but it's okay because sleaze even though this Giallo doesn't have as much skin in it as other Gialli.
Basically I'm very biased giving this movie 4 stars, don't judge.
So Sweet, So Dead rehashes virtually every familiar giallo film trope that had become cliché by 1972 — A mysterious black-gloved killer, gory knife murders, incriminating photos, gratuitous female nudity, a wise-cracking gay character, mustachioed police procedural drama, scandalized rich people, and of course J&B Scotch product placement.... Yet despite its check-every-box approach, it somehow EXCLUDES most of what I think makes a giallo film great — Say, stylish cinematography, extreme plotting, trippy mise-en-scène, gritty performances, an interesting protagonist, comical moments, a memorable score, and artful storytelling. So, what you have here is a painfully generic genre film that’s main distinguishing characteristic is its own insistence on ratcheting up the sleaze and misogyny. Oh yeah, and there’s also a socially-conservative sexist double-standard subtext about infidelity. Uneven pacing doesn’t help matters either. Not recommended unless you’re a die-hard genre completist.

Amie Harwick, ex-fiancée of Drew Carey, was killed 01:20
(CNN)Comedian Drew Carey is mourning the death of his ex-fiancée Amie Harwick, writing in a social media post that he was "lucky" that she was a part of his life.
"The Price Is Right" host tweeted on Monday what appeared to be a holiday image of him and Harwick sitting on a throne next to a Christmas tree with animated polar bears surrounding them.

"I hope you're lucky enough to have someone in your life that loves as much as she did," Carey wrote in the tweet.
Harwick, 38, was found unresponsive and "gravely injured" beneath a third-story balcony at her home early Saturday morning, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department.
The LAPD said officers were responding to reports of a "woman screaming" in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood where Harwick lived when they found her.
Police said her injuries were consistent with a fall and she was transported to a local hospital where she died. Officers found possible evidence of a struggle in Harwick's home as well as forced entry, the LAPD said.
Harwick's ex-boyfriend, Gareth Pursehouse, 41, was arrested Saturday afternoon in connection with the case and is being held on a $2 million bail, according to jail records.
Police said Harwick had recently expressed fear for her safety due to a former boyfriend and had previously filed a restraining order against him.
Harwick was a well-known therapist in West Hollywood, specializing in family and sex counseling. She regularly appeared on podcasts, TV and her YouTube channel to discuss her work.
Carey, 61, was engaged to Harwick in 2018, but the couple broke up less than a year later.
"Amie and I had a love that people are lucky to have once in a lifetime," Carey said in a statement to CNN. "She was positive force in the world, a tireless and unapologetic champion for women, and passionate about her work as a therapist. I am overcome with grief. I would like to thank you in advance for giving myself and everyone who loved Amie privacy while we try to work through this tragic situation."
Vulture reported that "The Price Is Right" has postponed taping for the week in the wake of Harwick's death.
